Garfield County: Update from Mike Honigsberg, Emergency Management Director for Enid/Garfield County
From Mike Honigsberg, EM Director for Enid/Garfield County:
Hunter Fire Department has made their fire station a warming center in Hunter. It is now activated. Lahoma hasn’t opened theirs yet and Enid’s is located at 614 North Garland at New Hope Methodist Church.
Over all we look better than we did this morning. OGE officials stated that they will have the majority of Enid citizens back on tonight. They hope to have all back on by end of business Wednesday. As for the rest of the county, they are working as quickly as possible to restore power in the rural areas. They are re-routing where they can but keep in mind that setting new poles and installing line is time consuming. They hope to have the majority of the county back on by Thursday. There will be some areas in the far outlying areas that may take longer. Don’t forget the mud created by this snowstorm.
I will be shutting down operations today at 4 and be back in the morning at 7 or earlier if needed.
WEATHER FOR TONIGHT- LOWS IN THE MID 20’S WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR FLURRIES AFTER MIDNIGHT. WEDNESDAYS HIGH NEAR 40 WITH NW WINDS 10-20 AND WE SHOULD BE PARTLY SUNNY.
Stay safe and warm.
