FYI: report of blowing dust, 12:57 p.m., today, from the National Weather Service, Amarillo, Texas
We are getting reports of visibilities in blowing dust down to 1-2 miles within the dust plume west of Amarillo along I40. A report of vis between 1/2 and 1 mile at Bushland was received. We are trying to verify if these conditions are sustained and widespread enough to warrant any dust headlines. Reports of multiple accidents are being received along I27 in NWS Lubbock’s area and elsewhere on the South Plains. We should urge caution for motorists!
