Extreme heat continues, National Weather Service, Norman

Weather Synopsis…The latest U.S. Drought Monitor places the highest drought category,
“Exceptional,” over roughly 75 percent of the Norman Office forecast area.
Severe to extreme drought covers the rest.
Dry ground is one reason the air temperatures are so consistently hot.
The weather pattern is not forecast to change as we enter August.
Practicing heat safety is as important now as it was when the heat wave began.
