over the area.

will occur during the late hours on Thursday.

Expected Accumulations:  Light ice accumulations will be

possible Thursday and Thursday night. There is a potential

for two to four inches of snow on Thursday night into early

of the storm system. Locally higher amounts are possible

depending on the timing of the transition to snow.

Thursday will fall into the 20s Thursday night.

Gusty north winds of 20 to 30 mph will develop

Potential Impacts
This round of winter weather will be affecting the

area during a period of heavy holiday travel.

If the storm system is able to come together over

the area, roadways will become slick with

hazardous driving conditions as early as noon on

Thursday.  Some blowing and drifting snow

will be possible late Thursday night

and Friday.  Plan your travel accordingly,

and allow extra time should road conditions deteriorate.

Weather Discussion
A strong storm system will emerge from

the Rockies on Thursday, bringing the potential for

widespread precipitation to much of the

central and southern Plains.  A mix of

freezing rain, sleet, and snow will be

possible across the local area. The storm system

will move east of the region during the day on Friday.
