Severe thunderstorms possible, National Weather Service, Norman

Weather Synopsis…While unseasonably warm weather will occur today… that all changes late tonight and ThanksgivingĀ as a strong cold front brings in a windy and much colder airmass. Highs today will be in the 70s in most areas… with even a few 80s in the Red River valley. However… high temperatures will dive on Thanksgiving… reaching only the upper half of the 30s in northwest Oklahoma and the 40s elsewhere. Showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible this afternooon and tonight ahead of and near the front with most of the activity occurring along and southeast of interstate 44. After widespread freezes Thanksgiving and Friday mornings, temperatures will begin to moderate by late Friday with the slow warming trend and dry weather continuing into the weekend.
