Why should a dead beat looser of a father get away with not helping to raise his children. It is a fathers job as well as a mothers job. It takes two to make the child by all fairness it should take two to raise the child.

I have a 15 year old case. For 15 years CSE has swept it all under the rug. I couldn't tell you how many times I have called and visited my local office 70 miles away. For years they had my address and phone number wrong, even after telling them multiple times.
I have requested to speak to a supervisor and she did call back when I wasn't home telling me to call back. I called back and she never called me back. I guess I should just not leave my house for a week or two just in case they do call. Even if they do nothing is ever done.
They have a court order. Why cant they put her in jail for contempt? I am owed over $30,000 yet they won't do anything about it. I have given them her address several times and still nothing, because they cant find her to serve her. Give me a break.

My daughter is owed over $50,000 in back child support and her ex is in drug court in McAlester yet they can't find him too serve him. Hello, he has to make mandatory visits to drug court! I think you could find him there. I think they should gives jobs to people that will actually work and fire the ones that don't. I'm disgusted and they are a joke.

My x-husband told me he would never give me one red cent because he was not giving his money to buy anything that was to go in my new residence. I told him then buy her some shoes or clothes or food that she would eat. But he refused, he was not going to pay support for her. he worked a job that paid cash, so I couldnt even get his State taxes. And when he did start working for employers that held out taxes he quit when DHS found him. This went on for years, and at one point he was over $20,000.00 behind and DHS was finally collecting the $176.00 monthly Child Support but I only got $2.62 a month in back support. What a slap in the face!! I figured it out by the time my daughter was 18, and if I was to take away the interest, just what was back Child Support Owed. My daughter would be 72 years old when he would have paid the money he owed to his daughter. I worked and did not receive welfare except twice I filed for emergency food stamps when My Cancer went out of remission, and I asked for help with my Radiation therapy treatments. When she turned 18 the $176.00 was cut off, and I did recieve $2.62 a month untill she was 21. Tell me how much did that cost DHS to keep on file. Yes, I took that debt card every month and spent it. Just to remind myself how much the system worked for me!!!

Well i can say I see both sides of the story I'm 17 years old and my dad left when i was four. At the time he made ten dollars per hour and he had to pay 310 per month on child support for my brother and I. My brother is now 20 and the amount is still the same because he owes back childsupport. Currently he works shutdowns all over he goes to out of country to work often. He is making 33 dollars per hour now and pays nothing he recently bought a brand new 2009 f-150 and two new four-wheelers. They have already revoked his license, he drives anyway. My moms husband makes 8 dollars an hour and we barely scrape by each month deciding what bills to pay. He has gotten behind on his child support because of it but this goes to show its the individual not child support angencies. My father is able but chooses not to. My stepfather is not able but if he could he would. So I see both sides of the stories and will continue to look at the individual. Personally I think that the agencies need to start inspecting the people that aren't paying to see what the problem is and then take action by what is really going on.

Seriously Sarah? Really? You think it is fine that someone would have to work at McDonald's to give their three children the minimum necessities and the other parent be obligated to do nothing? I have worked for years to take care of my three children while their father has done the little to nothing. While they appreciate my efforts, they don't appreciate the fact that I could have pursued a better life for them but didn't want to upset anyone by asking for the child support they had been awarded. I used my own hubris as a way to defend myself. I should have been a better parent, put pride aside, and insisted that the father step up or be punished. All I taught my kids was that it is okay to break or ignore a court order if keeps the waters calm. So unfair to the children and the working parent! Keep your legs closed or your pants zipped if you don't want to help take care of the life you may bring into the world.

I have to disagree with Adrian's comment. Most custodial parents are working one if not 2 jobs due to the other deadbeat parent. Why else do they have to turn to Child Support Enforcement Agency? Could it possibly because the other parent makes no attempt to help support the child they helped bring into the world? Lose driving rights? Wow!! Maybe they should be driving to a JOB, then drivng to VISIT their child and play an active role in raising a child to be a respectable productive grownup. Jail? You betcha, because its criminal to allow your child to go without just so you can get your daily coffee fix...six-pack...bag of dope...You can bet the deadbeat parent isn't missing any meals OR worrying how to stretch the grocery budget AND still feed a growing child a healthy diet.

You are kidding me right? I can't get OK Child Support Enforecement to crack down on my deadbeat parent. Yeah they intercept his tax refund every year but that's all they do. They certainly don't enforce his monthly obligation. The agency hires rude agents to man their phone bank and I feel discriminated against because I work for a living and am not on welfare. I bet if I was on welfare they would try a little harder to get his child support. I'd like to know where they get their figures because I haven't seen an money.
