Father fighting DHS establishes Web presence
An Oklahoma City father has taken to the Internet as he tries to change how the state Department of Human Services deals with allegations of child abuse.
Clarence W. Cooper II has set up a Web site, www.sq745.org, to draw attention to his attempt to force a vote on his proposal.
Cooper needs to collect more than 117,000 signatures by mid-April in order to get his plan for a DHS overhaul before Oklahoma voters as State Question 745.

The people of Oklahoma have a chance to act and do what those in the system have failed to do for 10yrs., Protect children and provide truth and justice for all in our courts.

I am behind Cooper all the way!
My partner and I shared a child, and DHS pulled out all the stops for 4-5yrs. I turned in the problem and the system turned their back on me and my little girl. Everyone she knew as her family will never be able to see her again. However, she will never see us either.
I live in oregon and am presently in a dv shelter with my 3 kids. here i met a 33 yr old mother who is trying to fight dhs for her 4 children. this woman has no drug history or record of any kind. dhs has taken her children and placed them with their felon father and girlfriend who sold meth and grow pot. because she was beat by a boyfriend and dindt leave right away. “failure to protect” she is a victim who is being blammed for not leaving sooner. I pray that cooper get the needed signatures to fight dhs. someone needs to get through to the nation that dhs is distroying families and are the ones putting many children in this nation in harms way.
dhs has done this before in my family… back in the mid eighty’s-ninety’s they will never admit they are wrong they need to be held accountable! good job cooper keep up the fight i pray you win!
Update, August 14, 2009

I am a 26 year old father. I have a 4 year old daughter that was taken from her mother and step father for drugs. I have no drug history and for that matter no record period. i am a good father but dhs wont give me costody. I have taken a drug test every two weeks for visitation and passed all of them and still they are making me out to be the bad guy. My daughter doesnt get to see me as often as she should and I was also told today that if I didn’t go to out patient rehab that I may not see my daughter again. I think dhs should be shut down permanantly.
I live in Oregon too. I’m a Foster Grandmother that has had my rights taken away. It’s such a long and terrible story. If anyone can direct me to someone in government that will at least hear my story Please in Gods name help me.
