The iPhone has become a necessity for the college student population. Upon the release of the iPhone 5, the majority of the college students saw it as a huge deal and major release of not only the year, but of their life. Apple has built for themselves a reputation that is difficult to live up to year after year. I purchased the iPhone 5 the day it was released, and am incredibly disappointed with the advances that Apple has made on this generation of the iPhone. This reputation they have built has seemed to have plateaued and the loyal Apple customers are experiencing the effects of this cessation. Previous iPhone holders are not satisfied with the new release and desired something much more from Apple. However, due to Apple’s excellence in marketing and causing the iPhone 5 to appear vastly different and more advanced than the iPhone 4S, Apple was still able to lure many consumers into another generational purchase. Regardless, Apple seems to be falling behind in the advancements category to the Android devices from Samsung, Motorola, HTC, and LG. It will be interesting to see if Apple makes any significant changes in their next generation iPhone.

I actually have the iPhone 5, and I got it literally the minute it came out. Now looking back, I probably should have waited until the reviews came out. I am overall satisfied with the 5 but I believe its because I had never had an iPhone before this! To me it seemed spectacular! However, my sister has had the 4 for a while now, and the only real difference that she and I have noticed is the slightly larger screen and the slightly enhanced camera. This is also what I have heard from other people, and well most of the new additions that were talked about being added didn't actually get added.
Within the first couple of months that I have had the phone, Apple had a lot of updates that were constantly running including a major one with Verizon that dealt with the wi-fi and cellular usage that was being overused. However, it was fixed and Verizon removed the charges.
Overall I am satisfied with my new phone with just few exceptions regarding the bugs that have needed fixing. :)

I totally agree that the volume for the iPhones is way too quiet. I have thought that so many times! I'm glad that I'm not the only one! With regards to the different varieties of the iPhone, I am not sure that this is such a good idea. This would require a lot of new development costs and it could effectively kill off the demand for the different variations. Although not optimal from the consumer standpoint, Apple is doing quite well to only offer one size. This saves on costs as well as keeps the demand high, instead of splitting the demand up into the different variations of the phone. This way, Apple can keep the price high. Don't expect this to change.
