Patti, I don't think they always automatically suspend a player for a Flagrant 2, although it does warrant an automatic ejection from the game it happens in. So I guess the league is saying that the refs should have ejected Ibaka, but it wasn't quite bad enough to warrant a suspension. Or at least that's the way it looks.

Then again, I sometimes think league officials are secretly writing some of our state and federal laws, which would explain why they're often so screwball.

I'm confused by the Ibaka decision. Upgraded to a flagrant 2 ( which would have been an ejection) but no suspension? Very mixed message and completely different from the previous suspensions for attacks on "man town".

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's playing against the Lakers and thought he was trying to whack free from Blake who was clearly holding his jersey.

Note to Ibaka: go ahead a whack Kobe's package. I'm sure someone will step up and pay the fine. BTW, for the overreacted...kidding!

Sorry, I thought this was the thread for whether or not Ibaka got suspended. Turns out it was actually about Russell Westbrook making decisions like a girl (?), the Miami Heat, and Midol. My bad.

Bonus point to Patti for creative come-backs though.

Totally off topic with this next part of course, but Ibaka is getting off with only a fine and no suspension. Lucky him.

Errol??? "The same way as a girl uses her heart to decide on things" ???

Really, is this your analysis?

I can't set you straight right now because I have to go bake a cake, buy some Midol, and make some decisions with my heart.

I am seriously thinking that Erik Spoelstra is way better coach than Scotty Brooks, because the Heat has won 6 straight games against the Thunder. How can the Thunder win, presuming the Thunder reaches the Finals, against the Heat, when he, Brooks has not come to any solution how to defeat them? If was a betting man, I would put all my money on the Heat, cause reality is more advantageous than dreams!

Fifteen straight victories for the Heat, and the Timberwolves were left understanding the truth: Only way to beat Miami is when James tumbled out of the sky, onto the floor and clutched his left knee. Only way is if James doesn’t get up again. Barea ejected for flagrant foul on Allen.

The Heat’s Shane Battier agrees that the singleness of James’ talent – the guarantee of championship contention, his UNSELFISH PLAYS, his TEAM-CENTRIC IDEAS – make him immune to some changing economic realities.

Wherever James goes, that team will be instant contenders. Nevertheless, the arrivals of the Ray Allens and Battiers at South Beach are important illustrations of the lures greater than his talent. For everyone else who insists that Heat president Pat Riley is vital to James’ future, make no mistake: Staying with coach Erik Spoelstra will mean even more to James’ future.

Spoelstra’s been tough enough to stand firm with a mercurial star, and innovative enough to expand the Heat’s offense and defense to deepen James’ impact on winning and losing.

I expected they would suspend him yesterday, if it was going to happen. But yup, there's still time, and I'm still 50/50 on whether it will happen. If I were forced to jump down off the fence and pick which briar patch to land in though, I'd have to land in "they'll suspend him one game." Based on those prior suspensions and the videos, that seems the way the wind should be blowing when it reaches the fence. But no way to really know till it gets here.

The Thunder’s emotional player, Westbrook, is emotional all of the time, which is bad for the team, because he doesn’t use his brain and he’s full heart. The same way as a girl uses her heart to decide on things, which most probably made a wrong decision.

When things were going bad during a game other past years for the Thunder and Westbrook was ouy of control, there was Eric Maynor to settle things back a bit and calm things down. When Westbrook calms down, that was the time to bring him back to the court. Now the Thunder does not have that person to calm things down and the coach also instead of not showing some emotions is also emotional, specially when the game is regressing.

What I am saying is, it is not good to not control emotions, because emotions are more illogical ways rather smart thinking which turns things around. Does that make sense readers?
