Tony, I'm glad you take the time to read, but next time, take the time to pay attention as well.

First point - Seattle is not "getting back a team" that Oklahoma took from them. The Thunder is not moving back to Seattle and magically transforming into the Sonics. Sorry.

Also, in case you missed it, the Sonics were purchased and the new owners eventually re-located. Nothing was 'taken' or 'stolen.' Sit down for this because it might be new information for you, but this is not even remotely close to the first time that a business has re-located to another city.

As I've said many times before, Seattle has "stolen" its fair share of businesses from other cities over the years, and no one comes on here and cries about it, or the way in which countless individuals were affected as a result. So they can deal with it up there the same way other people have had to deal with such things. It's part of life.

Second, your argument about SacTown not wanting the Kings is the same argument folks made about Seattle and the Sonics a few years back. Do a little background on what happened with Sacramento over the last year, and get back to me on that. Because to be polite, you're wrong.

With the Sonics, it was mainly a matter of timing. Bad timing, for them. The locals had already ponied up for new stadiums for the football and baseball teams, and weren't in the mood to do it a third time. They were willing to risk losing the Sonics as a result, and then screamed about it when it actually happened.

On Westbrook and his comment the other day, no, it's not about personality. If it was, he'd be getting skewered for *that* because so many people seem to dislike his personality. He was left untouched because it was a slur toward black people and he's black, so the unwritten rule is that he gets a pass. And that's wrong. If you want to end double-standards, then you end them by ending them. It's not complicated, but it's obviously hard. And folks very clearly don't want to deal with it, so they look the other way. Including you.

Trading Westbrook or Durant? Like I said the other day, why don't bet your entire bank account on one of those guys getting traded, then get back to me on how that worked out for you. I'll sit here and hold my breath, waiting to hear back from you.

Or not.

From DM:

•Apparently, Westbrook used to play tennis. Seriously. That’s what he said today.
Maybe it will be appropriate for him to play singles (tennis) cause he could take all the shots by himself and no need to share the ball.

•Asked how long it would take to him to grow a beard as long as James Harden’s, Westbrook informed us that he’s “never shaved a day in my life.”
Gillette shaving blades will never hire him for their commercials, never.

•Here is Durant’s all-time starting five: Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley and Shaq.
If I was a betting guy, he wished that he could someday be like them and smart. Those are pretty good company and think that Durant admires all of them for the championship they have received, except Barkley. He thinks to emulate any of them, except Shaq who is really big to follow.

•Westbrook on why he’s participating in the Shooting Stars event on Saturday night: “I wanted to do something different, actually. I was tired of losing in the Skills Challenge.”
I think Parker has more confidence and patiencein the Skills Challenge than Westbrook.
In the three point contest, Durant also has less confidence and gets anxious too much rather than be relax on the venue.

Darnell you should have asked both players how to win against the Heat and their chances if these teams are back in the finals.

I wouldn't be surprise if the Thunder make a trade for the DeMarcus Cousin from the Sonics, in exchange for probably Durant and Perkins or Ibaka and Perkins as a package deal. The new owners are big time businessmen that have a big bucket of money to throw around as Microsoft partners. Seattle is a big market for basketball and Sterns know how to make them happy and so with his friend Clay! We shall see by next year if will all happen.

My, my, Todd I haven't read you much to be upset with what you read! Did someone say something bad or resentful about your beloved Westbrook, cause I haven't read anything saying bad about him in this column. Might be in some other website you read from, but try to control yourself, cause nobody here is getting so uotight about nothing, except you!

You are also blowing your gasket about the Sonics team that are just planning to get back a team that Oklahoma took from them. I wuld be also irritated by the false impression that Clay made when he said the team will stay in Seattle, talking about hypocrites and double standard.

Why in the world your are so upset that Seattle might get a team back if the Kings are not interested in them. Its the Sacramento folls who should be blamed, just like the Sonics were taken to OKC, but under false pretext by Oklahoma to the folks in Seattle?

Now as a conjecture, who would Todd part with between Westbrook and Durant, if there is a trade between the Thunder and the Supersonics? Who would you prefer to lead the Thunder between the two?

BTW, someone who wrote about you, Todd not to bring the race issue here, cause it is not because of it, but due to the personalities and attitude of the individuals. It is a matter of agreeing or not, nothing more!

Not only would Seattle fans boo the Thunder, they'd throw things on the court and there would be death-threats against the players, coaches, and owners, before the game. Bet money on all of that. It's how they roll up there. If you don't believe it, go back and re-read some of the crap they said about Oklahoma in 2008, as well as since. Wonderful hypocrites, they are up there.

Oh, and they haven't stolen the Kings away from Sacramento yet. That's still to be determined. I'm cheering for SacTown, partly because Seattle doesn't deserve a team. But it would be rich irony to watch them squirm with their rationalizations if they do get the Kings. Like I said, hypocrites.

Westbrook not a team player? Pay closer attention, Chuck. He's one of the beat team-oriented team-guys you'll find, in spite of his often mercurial personality. It's amazing that more people don't see that.

I was right about the non-reaction to his N-word comment the other day though. He's probably my favorite player on the team, but he should have gotten the hot-foot treatment for that, and would have if he were white. As it was, nothing.

Be irritated or offended by that all you want. Doesn't matter. It's a double-standard, and it's wrong the same as any double-standard.

If you want equal treatment, then you start by treating people equally, not showing favoritism because of skin color. A person's color shouldn't matter, which is why Westbrook should be getting skewered instead of let off the hook. You want a color-blind society, then start acting like it. You don't like that, too bad. Deal with it. And think about it.

In other news, it's kind of surprising the way the Bulls fly under the radar, in spite of how well they've done without Derrick Rose. If and when he returns, and plays like his old self, I think Chicago becomes the #1 threat to Miami in the East.

Without him, probably New York or Indiana holds that distinction, and while they'd give Miami a fight, I don't think either one could take them down in a seven-game series. Chicago, with Rose, I think could do it.

Getting back to Westbrook, I seriously wish he'd enter the dunk contest just once. Win or lose, he'd put on a show worth watching.

From Darnell Mayberry's interview:

“I rate myself by how my team is doing,” Westbrook said. “If my team is doing great then I feel like I'm at the top where I need to be. When my team gets to the Finals I feel like I did my job of helping my team getting to the Finals and I feel like I'm at the top of the game.

“My goal is to become a winner. I think the more you win the better you're off, no matter if you average 30 or if you average 15. If your team is winning then you've got to be considered (the best) in something. That's just kind of how I feel.”

I do not believe him that's he is a team first kinda guy, although I think, he is for himself first kinda guy!

DM •I asked Westbrook what his favorite part of All-Star Weekend is. He said the events of Saturday night. I then asked him his least favorite. Without hesitation, he said “this.” He said it with a laugh, though, and was clearly having some fun even though he was dead serious in his answer.

Did he mean your interview or interviews?

•Pretty significant statement from Russell Westbrook in his media session today. “I think it’s very important to be able to stay with one team and stay with a great organization like we have and be able to do things like this. It’s a blessing.”

That only says one thing to me, He ain't moving to any team, if he could help it, but can't do anything if he gets traded!

From DM-•Somebody asked Kevin Durant if he ever “broaches” the subject of the Kings’ possible move to Seattle with Clay Bennett. I guess I’m obligated to tell you, for anybody that might not know, Durant said no.

I don't think Durant or even Collison will be booed by the Seattle Sonics, but Clay and the Thunder will be if he ever shows up in the game. Durant was drafted by the Sonics and he had to choice in the move, but who knows if the Sonics will get him back.

I don’t think Durant or even Collison will be booed by the Seattle Sonics, but Clay and the Thunder will be if he ever shows up in the game. Durant was drafted by the Sonics and he had to choice in the move, but who knows if the Sonics will get him back.
