The Thunder Made a mistake in trading Byron Mullens to the Bobcats as he is now their best player making; 25 points, 10-16 shooting (top scorer in game), 18 rebounds, 4 assists in 42 minutes of play. The guy is 6'11" tall which could be a starter with the Thunder as power forward or center plus a scorer and rebounder. Those two attributes in scoring and rebounds are the things missing in that position for the Thunder.

Presti and Brooks should try to give their rookies and new players to show what they do before trading them quickly. Brooks must play them instead of lingering on the bench, just as some stubborn coaches do. That is an old style of orienting the new player, specially the rookies!

The Heat has the Lakers number and they played the Thunder the same way last finals, drive and kick out for the three point shooters to make. Hope the Thunder has solved that same old problem, as I have had it with the Thunder losing four straight!!!

John Rohde, what in your opinion can get the Thunder to beat the Heat, cause as of last finals up to now, the Heat has beaten the Thunder 4 straight games?

I have a perfect guy that is needed by the Thunder to guard LeBron. He is the power forward of the Lakers, earning about $1.2 million and hw is Earl Clark. He has the quickness and build to compete with James bullish drives!
Maybe Darnell, he is your guy to bring to Presti’s attention. He has lingered on the Orlando Magic bench for two years, why don’t you give it a try, cause the Lakers might not be a contender this year.

I am starting to believe that the Thunder coach and players are reading some of the blogs here and starting anew. Like this one from Durant and some mentioned here awhile back:

”We are just trying to focus on us every single day and how we can be better and playing up to our standards, which is defense first,” Durant said.

”These past two or three games have been really great for us on the defensive end setting the tone. When we play an all-around game with everyone contributing on the offensive end, defensive end. We always do it as unit. Then offensive end, we are doing a better job of playing together. Everybody getting touches and feeling good about themselves.”

This is the part that I tend to believe Durant, Brooks and others are following, as mentioned by some of the criticizing blogs:

I’m open to let Sefolosha be the Thunder’s point guard, with his 6’7″ frame, he’ll surely flatten the likes of Wade, Parker and other 6’3″ guards. If Brooks does that, then Sefolosha will take point from Westbrook and Westbrook slides to shooting guard, which it will be lights out!

If the Thunder can develop these second unit in time for the game with the Spurs this March 11, that would be a great game to see. The Spurs are playing 11-12 players right now, without Duncan and Ginobili and are still doing great. They are also limiting the playing time of their starters. Popovich is surely a wise coach to get his team clicking on all 12 to 14 cylinders and a night for the Thunder to handle, specially in San Antonio home court.

Here’s hoping the Thunder beat them to get back to home court advantage in the conference playoff, by getting the hometown OKC crowd all rev-up and ready to support their local team.

Another thing to watch, is seeing if the Thunder can get the monkey (Heat) off their backs by watching videos on how Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks beat the Heat twice and Wizards, Clippers, Detroit, Boston, Utah, Portland, Milwaukee Golden State, Chicago and Memphis beat them once! As of now, the Thunder has been beaten by the Heat 4 straight times starting last years finals and nothing has been done to fix this problem by Scotty Brooks or his staff!

So far the Thunder has not been successful with them yet and really needs to focus on how to defend and be offensive minded to take are of the trio. Hope they now have a plan of attack.

Maybe the Thunder has now have the right combinations with the second unit doing just fine and getting better acclimated to get things going defensively and offensively. This is an example of my blog connecting with Brooks, Durant and others, although I am not bragging, I just happy that they are!
