Yeah, my head is spinning also but it usually is.... It's from all those undiagnosed football concussions I had when I was an undersized defensive & offensive tackle....

Is "bull in the ring" still a practice staple these days ????

Name a coach that won without good players, or a team that won without a good coach. A good coach gets the best out of his players, yes, but he also figures out how to get the whole thing working together as an effective unit, rather than just a bunch of talented individual parts. That's what Jackson did and why he was so successful. Eleven titles in less than twenty years? No one else can match that, period. Other coaches had great players, and won with them. No one did it as effectively as Jackson.

As for last year's finals, OKC lost to a team that was better prepared for the brightest spotlight the sport has. The Thunder wasn't mentally or emotionally prepared to the same extent, and looking back they probably weren't going to be. For all that, they were right there in every game save one, until the final minute. If they shoot free-throws the way they normally do, and/or if James Harden doesn't pull a disappearing act, they probably win the series. That's how close it was despite the 4-1 finish.

But if we're going to blame Brooks for losing the finals, then we're giving him credit for making the adjustments needed to come back from 0-2 against the Spurs and sweep the final four games. Brooks is learning and improving the same as his players. Pop didn't come into the league as some sort of all-knowing and flawless NBA coach. He's made mistakes the same as everyone else, but he learns from them and has improved. He also has had some incredibly good players, and he figures out how to get them to play like a team.

Brooks has done much the same. At some point, we have to give credit where it's due, and state the obvious. OKC's success over the last few years years is a reflection of how their coach and his staff have taken some wonderful talent, and turned it into an incredibly good team.

That's the point.

Your point?if it wasn't for us Pop would've won the championship last year,LOL.Tim Duncan,Manu and TP are way past thir primes yet look how they play.Youre making my point. Its not about age either. We were good enough and mature enough to win last year.We just flat out got out coached.

Are you saying that the coach is responsible for Lebron winning a championship or his age?Im confused. Both are wrong btw.Its the fact that he is on a super team.

Jordan sacrificed money to get good teammates so he could win.But go ahead and credit Phil Jackson for winning with the best player EVER and quietly the best all around player EVER.

Kobe and Shaq winning championships directly coincides with Jordan's retirement. No one else could beat them.Phil or no Phil. They stopped winning when Shaq left...

Stop.youre hurting my head

Phil Jackson was a "great coach".So good that he won championships with teams that included Micheal Jordan,Scottie Pippen,Kobe Bryant,Shaq and a wealth of top tier role players, some of which were actually stars that just accepted a smaller role.My point being,KD is the best player in the NBA.Russ is right in the mix. Most of what they do on the court is their talent.Where does the coach come in?He plays them a million minutes a game and reaps the benefits.Popovich is legitimately a great coach. He makes adjustments, his payers are some of the smartest and mst disciplined on the league. Can you say that about our guys?I can't.We work hard and have more talent than anyone else.Period.We got embarrassed in the finals last year against a team we could've beat because our coach either didn't know hw to make adjustments,or wouldn't.Like I said before,I like him.But he as a lot to prove still.

As far as Russ,He's the heart of the team and the alpha male.KD can't do KD without Russ doing Russ. The talking heads that criticize him are simpleminded and don't get the emotional spark he provides nor the fact that his relentless aggression allows KD to feel his way into a game. The fans that repeat all that Skip Bayless nonsense are clueless. If you are a great scorer and no one lined up across from you can stay in front of you, you're stupid if you don't tae your share of shots.Sonetimes you're off,it happens. But your team always has a mismatch at your position.

Best record in the NBA, NBA Finals last season, NBA Western Conference Finals the year before, played NBA Champion Lakers strong season before that BUT yet the local yokels from their couches still question if the COACH knows what he's doing ????

Nationwide worldwide Russell Westbrook is considered one the the BEST PLAYERS in the NBA but yet local nimrods thinks he shoots too much & he's not a team player.... I'd rather believe what NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar thinks about Russell Westbrook....

That's what happens in a football state, too many undiagnosed concussions & then those afflicted spout off their cloudy gridiron condemnations....
