I read about how KD barking at RG doesn't help his confidence. Then I read the blastings of Perk,Russell, trading KM and Coach Brooks. Is there ever a time when all you guys think,I hope the team (with the second best record in the NBA) doesn't read all this and start doubting their skills even a little bit?To me it's apparent that if Russel hadn't made those shots in overtime and KD didn't score in OT I'd be hearing Russell shoots to much and KD needs to demand the ball.I wonder how different you would have felt about the Heat game if Russell makes that 3 and gets fouled and makes the free throw and we win the game.It would be about how he made the game winning play when it really mattered. The guy that won the game in OT is still the same guy that missed the shot in Miami. And either way I'm so glad he's own our team.Even when we win over and over there is agroup complaining about how we should have won by more and who we should get rid of in order to make that happen. p.s. Mark Bryant is an excellent big man coach.

Just wish Westbrook would quit trying to be a crash dummy and go crashing into triple-defenses when he goes on fast breaks and gets blinders trying to weave to the basket, then taking a tumble, complaining, and not getting back on defense. I like Westbrook, but come on, grow up, mature, try something different once in a while - fake the crash dummy, and pass off, or pull up, or just switch it around. Isn't it getting boring, even for you? It's not 2 on 5, it's 5 on 5. Get the other Thunder players involved. Learn that one thing this season, and it will be a great Christmas present to me and the rest of the team.

[...] Darnell Mayberry: “One last thing about Jackson. Can everyone please give the guy a chance before making judgments one way or another? Keep this in mind. Jackson hasn’t been through the NBA circuit a full time yet. He’s still playing opponents for the first time. Players naturally get better as they become more familiar with opponents’ tendencies and opposing teams schemes. Jackson got his feet wet last year, and that gave him confidence. Now that he has it he’s got to learn what’s being thrown at him. It’ll take time. So be patient.” [...]

Buddies from UCLA, Darren Collison and Westbrook were playing each other, trying to see who is better and it showed that Collison demolished Westbrook with 32 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. As per Berry Tramel's column, Collison played point guard and not Westbrook, so that is probably the reason why Collison played better in running the team. BTW, good comments about the game BT. Sorry could not write in your column, no Facebook membership for me!

DM, you are correct on your observation about the Thunder players; that is about Reggie Jackson, Westbrook, Perkins, Durant and Ibaka. If Brooks gives more players their confidence they need in games, specially crucial ones, like the saying, better to have more than none. None means no other players could cover the places of star ones when they get substituted, get hurt or unavailable for some reason.

Your way of criticizing players are not to blow them off the team, but instead give them their weakness, improve their skills farther and boost their moral. That is what I have been saying, work with what you have and make them better! I have been also mentioning that the Thunder bigs might need of a big players coach, not that they fire the one they have, but a veteran center who has developed a certain kind of experience.

Your suggestion Perkins really might have him develop to be a great rebounder, without really trying and a low post scorer with that soft touch, with their similarity in height and weight. Just hope that Perkins will heed your advice and does it now or on the offseason!

Listless performance through 3.5 qtrs. KD basically won that game, through sheer will.

I'm convinced the Thunder need to upgrade their bench. Watching the Clips afterwards pretty much cemented that fact.

And what to say about Perk? Yikes, he was awful.

DM has gotten soft! Some Nuggets ago, he said they need to stop throwing the ball to the bigs if they can't catch and finish. Now Perk should watch tape on Zach Randolph!? Really? Perk is the same Perk he was in Boston and is the same Perk he's always going to be. Offensively inept and there to help them beat the Lakers. And Doc knew when to sit him.

*light applause for K-Mart* He was good tonight.

Brooks is a pretty decent coach out of a time out... except when you need to get KD open for a 3.

Westbrook became a contributor when he passes the ball to other shooters and began making his shots after he looses his guard when the others double team other Thunder players. He doesn't have to force his shots, but have patience and let it come to him. The first 3 quarters were awful for him and the 4th quarter was when he became free as he gave up the ball quickly and roamed around and his teammates found him. That should be his way of appraoching the game every time!

Glad to see Ibaka rebounding the boards because the Thunder's weakness is rebounding and they got chance after chance to set another play for the players!

Kevin Martin was as reliable as can be, with his threes's at the time when they were double teaming Kevin Durant. Other coaches know that to beat the Thunder is by corraling Durant

Reggie Jackson was as reliable as can be with his sticking to his man in defense, 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 turnover in his limited 11 minutes of play.

Thabeet needs some minutes to get him acclimated in playing in games that will get him playing at a higher level than garbage time!

Lastly, Brooks should not panic in tight situations and try to offset things as he did in this game with the Mavericks! He was thinking to settle down Westbrook as a point guard and let Reggie Jackson play. That should also give Reggie some confidence and make him better, just as the Heat has done to their point guards, Chalmers and Cole!

Regarding your trade proposal (Kevin Martin for O.J. Mayo and Shawn Marion) and more:

1. Mayo has a PLAYER option worth $4.2 million for next season and will almost assuredly decline it if he continues to perform at the level he has this season(18.8 PPG).Thus, the Thunder may have a better chance at resigning Martin, who turns 30 in February, than they would Mayo, who is 25 and may be seen as a building block for a franchise eager to spend money.

2. Although the Mavericks probably see Mayo as a building block for their future, they would likely accept this trade if it meant getting rid of Marion's contract, which expires AFTER the 2013-2014 season. They need all the space that can get if they're going to continue to chase the Dwight Howard and/or Chris Paul dream.

3. I assume the Mavericks would rather have Jeremy Lamb and their own first-round pick - given to OKC in the Harden trade - instead of Martin. Gives Thunder a better chance to win now, and gives Mavs a piece for their future. Who says no?

4. Where do the Mavericks go from here? A) Continue to develop their backcourt of Collison and Mayo, and B) Pray the Lakers continue to struggle and hope Dwight Howard wants to start over in Dallas next season.

Serge was amazing. Marv called Ibaka Flight 9 after that putback. I'm rolling with it.

KD's cold-blooded clutchdom has been a little off late in games with as many minutes as he's been playing. Tired legs. Good thing we have another confident closer that's capable of dominating and taking over. Russ needed to make up for his awful 3.5 quarters though.
