So now we have 3 laid-back guys on the Thunder in Lamb, KD, and PJ3...and our best shooters keep passing the ball back to Westbrook??? To jack up 7 threes??? SEVEN!? Is this real life?

I was shocked that Brooks left Perk out when he needed to be . *slow claps*

Yea, Kevin Durant made shots down the stretch but Ibaka and the bench kept us in the game while Westbrook kept the Bulls in the game, Martin passed up open looks, and KD turned the ball over while scoring mostly quiet points up until the fourth.

BTW Serge plays better without MsKeriBaby in attendance

[...] Darnell Mayberry: “Kendrick Perkins didn’t look like he wanted to be here tonight. At one point in the second half, when Joakim Noah was called for traveling, Perk began talking a bit of trash to Noah when he tried to dispute the call. It almost seemed as if Perk was trying to fire himself up. There was no other reason for it. I don’t have any other plausible explanation for Perk’s performance in this one. He had five rebounds, the first coming with 28 seconds remaining in the first half, a steal and a foul and two turnovers. Rough, rough night for the big fella.” [...]

With the exception of jacking up 3-pointers, I didn't have a lot of problems with how Russ played last night. Admittedly, that was strange. Over the past couple seasons, he's averaged right around 2 3-point attempts per game. He definitely had lapses on defense last night.

I'm all for KD being a better playmaker, but he's passing up too many attempts to pass out to somebody taking a lower percentage shot.

Why don't you add Perk to that list of "those who should just go on & give it up...." I believe he's finally figuring out that he's more hinderance than help out there on the court....

If only his loyal player coach would become more of a TEAM coach....

Did MJ or Kobe ever have a PG like a 23yo Russell Westbrook ???? Last night KD was telling Russ to "stay on the ground....", some players like Chalmers respond to being barked at, others players just may bark & bite back or even curl up & crouch away.... KD knows more about how Russ will react than those on the outside looking in....

The THUNDER just BEAT one of the Eastern conference favorites on their home floor, I'm very happy about that & the rest of the season before us.... It's gonna be a fun ride....

Thanks DM for another objective recap. I think at this point if our goal is the championship, wins or losses matter a lot less than needed team improvements which you so well pinpoint. Thanks for your truthful light.

The reason the more talented team doesn't play like Chicago is because they are coached by Thibadou.

I hate to compare KD to LeBron because theyre so different but this is why he remains in second place. Although Bron is a streaky jump shooter and isn't the best closer, his fingerprints are all over every game. His best talent: making his teammates better. (He also wont hesitate to bark on their default point guard, Mario Chalmers.) That is not KD. It's not natural to him. That was James Harden.

DM,

Thanks for asking those questions. Not really sure what to think..

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Jordan and Kobe would never allow themselves to be taken out of the game. Whether that is voluntary or through their point guard.

Literally, those 2 guys (11 rings BTW) would have put an end to this after the first game RW chucked up over 20 shots, not to mention 40..

But, Darnell maybe you are right. This is the new KD, who is content to float around.

Count me as discouraged because that doesn't bode well for the team or our best player.
