Harden has not had the opportunity to show what he’s fully capable of in the NBA until now. He & JLin should do well together as well as attract more talent to Houston. But Harden’s off-court escapades could become an issue in Houston with that max money lol

I admit I was a little surprised that he led us on (lied really) because he had already sacrificed so much, I foolishly thought he really was willing to stay for less. But how much can you truly ask of a 23 year old young man playing with two other stars. He had already demonstrated his unselfishness on the court. Accept a lesser role AND accept less money!?

In shock? He was told on Friday he would be traded if he didn’t accept their latest offer and he turned it down. So much for the hometown discount he said he would give them.

Yes, the scrutiny is going to be more intense than anything he faced in OKC. I don’t know if he’s ready for it or not, to be honest, but I do hope it turns out that he is.

I was surprised and disappointed that his actions didn’t match his words where the contract negotiations are concerned, and I’ve been pretty harsh toward him about that the last few days. But bottom line, I do wish him well. Despite how things ended here, he was a good guy around the community, a darn good player, and he made the Thunder that much more fun to watch. Like TK said, play well against everyone else, James. Just not your old buddies in OKC.

Hardin has put himself under a lot of pressure. From the attention this trade has received, one would think Kobe Bryant or (gasp) KD had been shipped off to a non-contender. Now Hardin has to play at that level to justify his own actions. This is a man who, in his young career, has not excelled when he has started games. Under similar pressure, as in last years playoffs, he was erratic — at times brilliant, at times unable to rise to the occasion, especially in the Final’s spotlight. Now the spotlight won’t be shut off, even in Houston, and he has to avoid being the deer in the headlights.
