Ugh, kind of sad to see the tweets from the guys sent away in the trade. Nice sediments, but you get the feeling it kind of blindsided them, especially Aldrich and DC. Hayward might have figured he was not long for this team, or maybe he had no idea either, but still, kind of a rough deal for them.

Harden is a slightly different matter. Nice goodbye from him there on Twitter, and I have no doubt it's sincere. But he could have stayed. He's gone because it was his choice to reject any kind of a compromise. So be it.

Oh, to the first poster up above, thanks, but I think I'll pass on reading anything else by someone calling themselves The Great Mambino. Maybe if you went with something like The Great Frank or The Great Alfred, it might be different. The Great Darnell? Would have had me at hello. As it stands though, I'll have to pass.

OKC can stay contenders, but only if Durant and Westrbook decide that they want to play suffocating defense. They can still outscore teams, but without a top-20 player in Harden, it's going to be a lot harder. If the Thunder still want to contend, they're going to have to change their defensive philosophy going forward. A decent haul in exchange for Harden, but i think this takes OKC out of the title hunt this year unless KD and Russ decide to make wholesale changes. I feel like they should have ridden it out and try to win this year: the goal is win a title, and when you have a potentially winning formula, you have to take advantage - http://thegreatmambino.blogspot.com/2012/10/instant-trade-analysis-james-harden-to.html
