Lori, they still have to cut three more players by next week to get down to the league-mandated 15. So there won’t be too many new names to learn. Aside from Perry Jones III and Thabeet, odds are the only other new guy will be Liggins or Daniel Orton. And since I said that, it will probably be someone else.

Jon, gotta disagree about Perk’s defense. Plus, his stats will never wow anyone, but that’s not his role on this team. And they already have plenty of offensive firepower.

Awwww, I love Perk too! lol! I love them all and wish none ever left, but, I do realize that that is just part of it. I really think Harden will stay and will be totally shocked if he doesn’t. He seems to want to be here and the fans sure want him! I will always be a Thunder fan, but, I will also follow the ones who leave, just to keep up on their careers. Watching some of the game in Wichita tonight and realized I have no idea who some of the newer players are, so that is going to be interesting.

Amnestying Perkins would not be foolish at all. He’s an offensive liability and hasn’t near lived up to his defensive expectations.

Ha, enjoyed reading through the previous comments. And Lori, if Harden is the reason you became a Thunder fan, then all the more reason for us to like him. We’re all in favor of adding to the bandwagon.

Hard to argue that Harden is a very popular player, and he’d be missed around here if he leaves. But if he does, OKC will simply have to adjust. It’s a sucky part of sports, but it’s still part of it. But if it happens, don’t cut yourself, Beard Superfan!

I still think he’ll sign before the deadline, mainly because I’m an optimist about such things, and partly because of what he’s said about the whole thing. So if he signs before then, it will be for less than the max. That’s my incredibly (not) bold prediction.

But John, a question – do you really think Harden is a defensive liability? Granted he’s not Thabo, just like Thabo’s no Beard on offense, but I think Harden’s defense has gotten pretty solid overall.

I agree about Perkins though. I don’t think they’d go the amnesty route with him, and certainly not without a solid back-up plan. Or player. Which right now they don’t have.

I just wish they would sign the extension already! lol! I cannot take the anxiety! This is the guy that got me to watch the NBA, never had watched an NBA game in my life until I saw him and the other players one night while flipping through channels to see what was on.

I hope Harden stays with the Thunder, as he is a very important player that fans enjoy seeing. The beard is known nationwide, and gives another dimension to the game.
