Joe, that comment you just made really shows your true colors. The team went up for sale, we didnt steal it. And so what if it soothes painful memories of a horrifc tragedy in the process, how dare you condem people in a city for being happy and having something to be thankful for. The Thunder not only have united OKC but they have unified an entire state that was truly divided because of college football. You still have a professional team in the Mariners. If your so sore about losing a professional team, why not cheer for the one you still have with the breath you waste screaming about the one that left.

I'm a native Clevelander, living in OKC, so I guess I have a unique perspective. Having lost "My" Cleveland Browns to the city of Baltimore through the unscrupulous dealings of the "evil" Art Model, as well as enduring LeBrons "decision" to jump ship to the Heat. I waited for the Browns "return" and suffer with their ineptitude ever since, but I was born a fan and will always be one.

As much as I sympathize with Sonics fans, they too must learn to "let go" and work towards getting another team. I don't "hate" the Baltimore Ravens and especially not the people of Baltimore, (whose Colts were pirated to Indy)But I do not root for their team,so I can sure understand the fans in Seattle not rooting for the Thunder.

I would hope though, that the fans in Seattle would look at their loss as the family of an organ donor. This team has given new life to a city that has been in pain since the tradgedy at the Murrah Building in 1995, and for that, we thank you sincerely.

Todd you are a douchebag. To describe what you saw in Portland as "pathetic" shows you have no idea what it means to be devoted to a team. You're not a fan. You're a passer by. And I don't believe for a second that "cfa" is a Sonics fan. No Sonics fan would say something so ridiculous.

We've never claimed to have any association with the old Sonics teams. The 'ownership' of the records and such came about from the legal wranglings stemming from the lawsuit. And, I suspect, may not have happened if things had not become so incredibly contentious. Frankly I don't blame Clay Bennett for doing that, given some of the crap he put up with, including death threats.

But, I'm sure that most Thunder fans want nothing to do with Sonics records, or their 1979 title. That belongs to Seattle, as far as most of us are concerned. If - if - the Thunder wins a title this year, or some other year, that will be OKC's first. Not our second, and not Seattle's second. You had your team, you have your records. We have our team, and our records. They're separate, legal agreements notwithstanding.

And frankly, I'm tired of the whole Seattle/OKC nonsense. I'm focused on the NBA Finals. Not some worn out argument that was worn out before it started.

Let me make one thing clear, I am a Sonic fan and always will be. What was done is done and I for one am delighted that the Thunder have a shot at winning their first ever NBA title. Though Mr. Bennette will have you believe that the thunder became an expansion team in 1967 or on the day it takes place, that they have won their second NBA title, just remeber this...The first won was won by the Sonics the second was by the Thunder. Our two cities will forever be linked in this respect, but beyond that, the team belond to OKC. You are no long the former team of Seattle, but the OKC Thunder. Good luck to you in the finals.

Sigh. I would ascribe this to trying to find every possible angle from which to cover this series. Honestly though, I really think we could let the whole Seattle thing just die. All it does is stir up trouble. And probably ditto for Cleveland fans.

I don't usually criticize storylines because I know how challenging it can be to keep coming up with stuff. But this one......over the top, down the other side, and off the cliff. Shouldn't even have gone there. All it does is give people who can't move on a chance to whine about how awful their lives are since they lost their favorite team/player, and evil we are for putting them through it. Please.

I keep coming back to a Sonic fan who traveled to a Thunder game in Portland for the sole purpose of holding up a sign saying that he's son's life was ruined because the Sonics left. The word "pathetic" doesn't begin to describe that, or him. Or the incredibly sad fact that he's actually a parent.

Get over it, people. It's sports. Not life and death.
