Jo — sadly, I think you are probably correct–if both Lakers and Thunder make it to the next round it will be “must see TV.” And, I for one bet MWP aka Ron will be soundly booed–well deserving boos. I also truly hope Thunder pulls it all together and plays well in teh play-offs. Last month has been nerve-wracking.

David Stern had the 2nd round in mind when he handed out that suspension. The chorus of boos awaiting MWP will be must-see TV.

Out of Utah, Dallas and Denver, I’d rather see Phoenix first. *_*

Pick your poison: Dallas still has Dirk, Jason Terry, Rick Carlisle and championship experience. Denver loves to run, let them wear out the Lakers. Utah can score in the paint.

I cannot wait for Clippers vs. Grizzlies! Talk about a matchup! Rudy Gay is super clutch and can make big shots but CP3 owns the 4th quarter. They are going to absolutely hack Deondre and Blake though lol

Sorry about that last post. I do hope James Harden is OK, and that this most recent concussion will be short-lived in terms of symptoms. I hope he passes the Impact Testing and is cleared to play the first round. And I hope Artest stays on his bi-polar medicine, like he should. He should be regularly monitored to make sure he’s doing what he’s supposed to be doing to be a member of the NBA family.

LA Times sports writer Bill Plaschke says “Lakers Lucky World Peace Suspension Isn’t Longer”. OKC writer Darnell Mayberry says “I think the 7 game suspension is fair. I even think a 5 game suspension would have been fair.” So Plaschke knows LA got off the hook (because of who they are), but our own Mayberry thinks it’s too severe. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I just think it will be a huge slap in OKC’s face if Metta takes the court in the 2nd round playoff here in our town, and Harden still isn’t able to play.

My sentiments are similar to those reflected on SI.com–writer Chris Mannix–discussing the NBA missing a chance in this case to send a message, and noting the suspension of the NHL player.
Given the history of Artest; the increasing knowledge we have on concussions (brain damage); the viciousness of the blow (change of angle of the elbow, follow-through); I truly believe the 7 game suspension insufficient.
In fact, if Artest does again what history has shown he is and will continue to do–the NBA’s lack of enforcement provides good support for a lawsuit.

Nick, I was passing along information regarding Harden’s absence last night. If you want it, read my stuff. If you don’t, and you want to jump to your own conclusions, then don’t.
