I never even watched the NBA until Harden caught me eye. Love the way he can get things done on the court that no one else can. If this intentional hit by RA to Harden goes unpunished or lightly punished, something is terrible wrong. That man should not be allowed to play in the NBA at all. He could have not only ended James Harden's career, he could have ended his life. RA has done things like this in the past and there should be no place in the NBA for such intentional cheap shots. I know what neck and head injuries can do to a person and I am so thankful that James Harden is getting the immediate help he needs, I pray that it makes the difference in his be able to continue on with his career. Love my Thunder!

(Previous comment should have read: "with this kind of reaction").
Here's my point: If my husband beats me up, seeks help, comes back and beats me up again, do I give him a two week "time out" before we repeat this vicious cycle? Stupid if I do. This is not a first or second offense on Artest. I consider it completely insane to keep allowing him opportunities to injure other players or anyone else in attendance.

When you pound your chest with your fists ( as in this alleged act of celebration), your elbows hardly move. In watching this replay carefully, Artest's right fist pounds his chest; then, his left fist is extended to his right shoulder moving the elbow several inches toward his right side, drawing it as closely to the chest as possible before it is thrown back to a hard left. This is clearly to me, not the follow-through of the celebration, but an intentional thrusting of the elbow. After a player "seeks help" for anger management, then returns with kind of reaction, it is putting all other players on the court at risk to have him back in the game. For the sake of the other players, he needs to be ejected permanently before someone is critically injured.

I really hope Harden feels better and has no lingering effects. If he has to miss the playoffs, that's sad and unfortunate but his health should be the priority.

Throw Artest out of the league for his reckless behavior! It's only a matter of time before he loses it again. Get his psycho ass out!

Hope Harden fully recovers from the sucker punch he endured. He's a great young talent and the Thunder are lucky to have him. He will go far in the NBA. But I do think the NBA needs to call a technical for any kind of post-bucket celebration, just like they do in the NFL. It only leads to trouble.
