Speaking of the old crew from the good old days in the long-ago time of 2008, what's become of Kyle Weaver? Last I heard he was looking at possibly playing overseas, but that's been a while back.

Man, did Robert Swift actually play for the Thunder at one time? Seems like forever ago. An honored spot is one day his in the Bench Warmer's Hall of Fame.

Thanks, Darnell, for posting that video of Jeff Green's banked-in game-winner at Golden State. I was thinking the same thing when KD banked that shot in. All kinds of thoughts come to mind watching that: 1) Those were the days when NewsOK did a live chat for every game -- pre-Twitter days. Martz Mimic and the gang (Darnell, Baldwin, me and the infamous Harry Man) would keep each other entertained and alert by trying to trump the other with severe statements. Those were also the days of "Is Westbrook a point guard" debates. So much for calling them the good-old days. 2) Jeff Green's banker looked much more intentional and, well, good. 3) Did you notice the cast of characters? The Thunder's five on the court: Westbrook inbounding, future Celtics Krstic and Green screening for Durant, Earl Watson running to the far corner to get out of the way. ... Chris Wilcox was one of the first off the bench. Kyle Weaver jumped on Green's back, Desmond Mason and D.J. White cheering from the bench. And there, milling around in the back, was the great Robert Swift.

I do think the absence of Sefolosha has had a major impact. He's not a game changer by himself but he's a defensive leader that's an important piece of what they do defensively. It's like when Old Dan got killed by the mountain lion and Little Ann later died of grief because she just couldn't live without him, it's the EXACT same thing.

And Nuggets at 2 in the morning, the last time I had nuggets at 2 in the morning I was ______ off my _________ .

IIRC, the main discussion about David Lee was to try to acquire him from the Knicks the season before he became a restricted free agent. Everyone acknowledged that he plays matador defense, but is very good at scoring and rebounding. At the time, the Thunder's offensive efficiency was near the bottom of the league. Lee became a free agent the same summer that teams were doing crazy things like Detroit signing two bench players (Gordon and Villanueva) for $92 million. Once the market ran Lee's price into the $10 million per year range, the talk of him coming here stopped.

Well, except for one person...

I think the Thunder was interested in Lee. You'll recall that just before the signing period opened July 1, 2009, Lee's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said he would have a signed offer sheet from the Thunder or Grizzlies before sundown that would be big enough that the Knicks wouldn't be willing to match. The announcement, of course, was the most un-Presti-ish thing an agent could do - remind me the last time we knew about a trade before it happened? - and Lee wound up not getting an offer sheet for a week-and-a-half, after most other free agents were already locked up.

Love Ibaka, but he has got to get better with his ball handling skills. Is he not paying attention? Sweaty hands? What is it? Maybe they just need to have a practice where the players just dish to Ibaka. All in all, I love my team. He'll get better. Go Thunder?
