Tweedle, the thing is, they've already got that vet in Royal Ivey. I think that's their mindset. Maybe they go out and pick someone up with this disabled player exception, but I kind of doubt it. Although I hear Gilbert Arenas is taking phone calls. ;)

I'm with Darnell about Reggie Jackson. He'll be okay. A little rough to get thrown into the fire like he has, and he's had rookie rough spots, but I'd say he's at least treading water and not sinking to the bottom. Plus, he seems to be coming around some the last couple of games, and getting more comfortable with his role.

I'm with you and everyone else in that I miss Eric Maynor's steady hand out there, but I think Jackson will hold his own. No doubt we'll be able to re-visit the subject come playoff time, and see how things stand by then. I'm betting he'll be noticeably improved. But, we'll see what happens.

Thanks for clarifying on the exception. I have confidence that Jackson will turn into a fine player, but I don't know how much maturing can be done in such a condensed schedule. Surely they can't be practicing regularly. I would feel a lot better if they picked up a vet to back up Russ.

Tweedle, don't be talking about the Wizards nation. Lol.

Seriously, though, the exception CAN be used in trades. Check this out, Section 19, last exception, first paragraph. http://bit.ly/t3KdCv

I also got it confirmed by others that it CAN be used in trades. With that said, I doubt it gets used by the Thunder at all, in any form or fashion.

As far as Jackson, he's played 13 career games. Of course, he's not ready RIGHT NOW. But give him time. He'll be OK. -DM-

I'm sorry but Jackson is not ready, he's the only player in the ten man rotation to have a negative plus/minus for the season, that won't cut it come playoff time.

And I'm not 100% sure, I'm not a wizard like the writers at the DOK, but I believe the exception CANNOT be used for a trade in this case. It can only be used for a trade if the player is in the final year if his contract.

We're not going to do anything with it. Presti wants to win with exclusively young players, the majority of whom were drafted and developed here. He doesn't like the big name FA acquisition and trade life.

I, however, would love to see us get at least one of the overseas Fas. KENYON MARTIN will be available mid February and says he prefers to go to a contender.

You don't have to pay whoever you get much because they understand it's just for this run.

If not KENYON, there's also JR SMITH, AARON BROOKS, WILSON CHANDLER out there, but if you are just that concerned about Jackson as the backup pg, sign MIKE JAMES out of the D League who just got cut by the Bulls now that Rose is back.

I don't know why ROYAL IVEY and LAZAR HAYWARD and RYAN REID are even here.
