James Harden Off The Market?
Now from the “news I’d rather ignore” department.
It appears Thunder forward James Harden has bagged a celeb girlfriend, or something to that effect. Who knows what the right term is these days?
Anyway, according to mediatakeout.com, Harden and rapper Trina are dating “and it’s serious.”
According to very “in-the-know” sources, James has been COURTING Trina since this summer. He’s bought her GIFTS, flown cross country to be near her . . . and wined and dined the beautiful Trina. And now Trina’s HEAD-OVER-HEELS in love with James.”
I realize a good majority of Thunder heads probably have no idea who Trina is. And I’ll let you decide how much you want to know. You can read up on her by visiting her Wikipedia page. In a nutshell, she’s a 33-year-old rapper and model from Miami who’s been in the music industry since 1998. She’s produced hits such as “Nann…,” “Pull Over,” “Shut up,” “Here we go” and “Don’t trip.” Here’s a picture of Trina on somebody’s red carpet.
In the past, Trina has dated rapper Lil Wayne and NBA forward Kenyon Martin. She also has been linked to former Oklahoma State receiver and current Dallas Cowboys standout Dez Bryant, although both denied they were dating.
Harden has exchanged several messages with Trina on Twitter, with the two playfully bantering about marrying one another. The “twlirting” can be seen in the above mediatakeout.com link. Harden also has watched Trina perform, standing at the back of the stage as the rapper does her thing.
Why does any of this matter? In all honesty, it doesn’t. But don’t be surprised, if there is anything to the reported relationship between the two, if Trina is spotted at a Thunder game or two this season. Only a few “non-local” celebrities have attended Thunder home games since the franchise relocated here. Trina would join Xzibit and Cee Lo Green as rappers who have taken in a game in OKC.

How scintillating darrell mayberry.
The Thunder’s beat writer, rather than giving us some insight about the Thunder’s biggest (literally) stretch of games of the season, instead writes this drivel (interesting word – look it up darrell).
Thanks so much for keeping us posted on who’s going steady with whom. Guess I’ll check a Houston paper to find out about our games tonight and tomorrow.
Maybe you should be the Oklahoman’s BEET writer instead. You know beets can be interesting. They are best known for their numerous cultivated varieties, the best known of which is the purple root vegetable known as the beetroot or garden beet. However, other cultivated varieties include the leaf vegetables chard and spinach beet, as well as the root vegetables sugar beet, which is important in the production of table sugar, and mangelwurzel, which is a fodder crop.
That would have made for a more intersting read. Go darrell, or new beet writer!
Good for James! Here’s hoping that that we get a Trina rap version of the national anthem before a Thunder game sometime soon.
@Average Joe. If you are going to try to bash Mayberry and try to look like you are “professional”, please use capital letters and correct grammar.
Hey Average Joe, believe it or not, this kind of info is interesting to most of us fans. We want to know this kind of stuff. What if Kelly Clarkson showed up at a Thunder game and we found out later she was dating KD? Then we’d probably think that Darnell was slacking by not giving us that info. More importantly, Darnell writes about all the games and gives all kinds of insight. This is an “extra” little tidbit. You didn’t have to click on it if you didn’t want to.
Oh, and you took an awfully long time to write and complain about something that had apparently already been a waste of time. Doesn’t sound very smart to me. And one more thing, if you are going to complain and try to be witty in the process, you should try actually being witty. Cause your attempt was really lame.
Brandon, thanks for taking the time to respond to my comment. OMG! I did NOT know that KD was dating Kelly Clarkson! I appreciate the update.
Your remarks clearly BEET mine.
BTW – here’s some NBA news you may have missed while you where watching the E! channel.
The Rocket’s Courtney Lee will miss his second game in a row because of the calf injury that befell him during Tuesday night’s contest against the Lakers. Kyle Lowry, meanwhile, is being listed as a game time decision due to a bone bruise he sustained on his right foot during Thursday’s practice session when he got the worst of a collision with Jeff Adrien.
If Lowry is unable to go, that would move Goran Dragic into the starting lineup for tonight’s game, giving him the responsibility of matching up with Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook. Westbrook’s early season struggles have been well-documented – his numbers are down across the board compared to the stats he posted during his All-Star season a year ago – but he remains a dangerous and dynamic player capable of breaking out at any time.
The key to defending Westbrook comes down to keeping him out of the lane and away from the rim; something far easier said than done, of course. If, however, the Rockets are able to do that, Dragic and company will frequently be fine with letting him fire away from the outside, happily inviting the Thunder point guard to launch as many perimeter jump shots as he pleases.
Any ways after those boaring comments I in the other hand luv to hear that is still a cupid out there….. who knows they might just get married awww

That a way, Beard!
