Been waiting all night for this! Yes, I’m obsessive.

Great write up, Darnell! Brooks has got to come up with some better set plays. KD made a low percentage 3 point shot. Brooks has to do better than that. Secondly, our half court offense (especially with Thabo) is going to get us in trouble with good teams in the playoffs. As much as anyone, Scott Brooks needs to step up his game and come up with some better sets. Having said that, great win tonight and great start to the season! THUNDER UP!

Just incase anybody missed the game and where they chanted Russell Westbrook, the video is below.

I can’t get over how much some people knee-jerk.

If Durant’s shot doesn’t go in, the Mavericks would be considered a challenger to the Thunder in the Western Conference this year. But because it went in, the Mavericks “could be toast” THREE games into the regular season.

If the Thunder are the best in the west, which they appear to be, the Mavs look like they’ll be OK, based on tonight’s performance.

I realize their chances of repeating this year are slim-to-none, but I think they’ll be competitive. I think they’re a 4th or 5th seed in the west, and maybe a 3rd seed if Lamar Odom comes out of his coma.

By the way, Rudy T has something he’d like to add…

The chant for Russ was just amazing. And then KD’s game-winner, just wow. Two all-time great sports memories as a Thunder fan, all within the span of just over 3 basketball minutes. Best regular season game ever as a Thunder fan, no doubt about it.

[...] Darnell Mayberry: “The final 3 1/2 minutes tonight could turn Westbrook’s slow start completely around. He desperately needed something like this to happen for him tonight. Through three quarters, Westbrook was clearly not himself. He wasn’t playing with passion. The fire in his belly was absent. He was differing. And he made tons of mistakes, including passing up opportunities, as he tried too hard to play more under control. Only in the final 3 1/2 did we see the real Westbrook.” [...]

What Lockout? huh? Was there a player vs owner dispute?

All it takes is a game like this and all if forgotten and forgiven.

After a week like this the NBA is officially back and the Thunder are starting out on top.

[...] Thunder 104, Mavs 102 The second was a rebound off KD's missed 3 that Westbrook flew in and pulled down in traffic before canning a jumper over Shawn Marion. The third was a stolen inbounds pass. The fourth was a offensive foul he drew on Dirk Nowitzki, causing Dirk to pick … Read more on NewsOK.com (blog) [...]
