Darnell, I have not seen a good explanation of the BRI and how it works. You sign players at certain salaries. Do those salaries come out of the BRI? You have employees, rent and other expenses, do they come out of BRI? They want a different split on the BRI does that leave more for salaries and less for expenses? Each team has a different BRI. What if the players get 50% of the BRI and their is money left over after salaries. Obviously I don't understand this at all. I own a business. I bring in money, pay employees, rent and expenses. I then pay the people that actually do the work for me who are sub contractors. I them get to keep what is left. Also I saw the tweet from Kevin Durant that says people go to basketabll games to watch a player and to football games to watch a team. First tattoos and now not a team guy what is next. I have 6 season tickets to the Thunder. I go to watch the team. I quit watching baseball years ago because of all of the problems they had. I used to have season tickets to the 89ers. I have never been to a Redhawk game. I did watch the world series this year but no regular season games for years. I no longer know who any of the baseball players are. I do not watch any basketball games except THunder until post season. I only watch pro football for individual players not the team. I will watch the Mannings and former OU and OSU players. I think Kevin is wrong on this.

Thanks DM...if what they are saying is that they are going to use the reserved dates as the basis and not necessarily ALL of the reserved dates to even things out among the teams (number of away/home etc). For example:

RESERVED DATES
Date 1...Home
Date 2...Away
Date 3...Home

But if they only use (1 & 2) or (2 & 3) then it comes out even (but fewer games).

OK, Larry. I just realized you were probably saying the same thing I was explaining. If so, yes, using remaining dates alone will lead to the same uneven number of total games/home games/road games. -DM-

Not at all, Larry. Two things are extremely important. 1) The actual starting point of those remaining dates. As stated in the post, not all teams have the same number of remaining dates available. Therefore, it's not as simple as just plugging in an opponent. At this rate, you'd still have an uneven number. 2) Other teams' schedules/arena dates throughout the league. The schedule is an incredibly complex thing. Just because dates are being held doesn't mean it all fits nicely together. Teams must work around other events in their buildings. When one possibility for a road game in New York is available for the Thunder to play, for example, maybe there is an open date in OKC that the Thunder has to fill because of limited options. In some ways, without stretching out the actual regular season beyond mid-April, it could be even more difficult to rebuild a schedule with remaining dates. -DM-

"...the N.B.A. will build a new schedule from scratch, using all arena dates that are still reserved,"

If you are still using the same reserved dates, don't you end up with the same results (number of games played, home games, away games etc)?
