DM writes that Rose and Russ aren't comparable since the play for different teams. So, let's compare them when they were on the SAME team (2010 USA World Championships). In 9 games, Russ averaged 9.1 ppg (48%FG) 19 mpg, while Rose averaged 7.2 ppg (52%FG) in 23 mpg. Most importantly, look at the "crunch-time" last three games (quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals).
Rose: 23.7mpg\2.7ppg\1.7rpg\4.0apg
Russ: 23.0mpg\12.3ppg\4.7rpg\2.3apg

Rose went scoreless in the semifinals and had 2 points in the finals. Russ scored in double figures EVERY game. Unlike Rose, Russ can step up in crunch-time.

I think Russ at 15 is about right. And he is a better PG than both Rondo and Derrick Williams.

Top five has to be 1. Kobe 2. Dirk 3. LeBron 4. Howard 5. KD

I love that you wrote about this, Darnell. I've been following the rankings closely, very curious to see where Russ and KD ended up.

I'm with Nix on this one. I had him pegged at 13, right ahead of Nash and Amare as well. But 15th is amazing. That's a fantastic spot. How cool is it that we have 2 of the top 15 players in the world here in OKC?

I'm thinking KD will finish about 4th. I say it'll go LeBron, Kobe, Howard, KD, Wade, Dirk. Dirk is the wildcard. The experts might still be high on his playoff run last season.

I think it's a safe ranking. I would have him over Nash though. I thought he would land at 14 maybe 13 due to Amare's knees/eye/defense.
