Great stuff, John. Thank you for saying this. KD has been the perfect ambassador and possibly the greatest role model and classiest person in all of professional sports, and the kid has a little fun by razzing OU (since they’re his college’s biggest rival), and some people freak out. It’s ridiculous and embarrassing. I actually felt bad for KD watching that video– it’s so important to him that his fans love him that he made this video to make us feel better. I really wish he didn’t feel like he had to do that, but again, KD shows that he will always take the high road even if others do not.

OKC is lucky to have KD, and I do hope we get to keep him his entire career, point blank.

I love KD and respect the fact he loves his college. Kevin does so many positive things for OKC–it’s somewhat embarrassing this is even close to remotely being a story. Having written that…I hope we kick the Horns’ a-ses and have several key players limping for the next four weeks…then I hope O State goes to Austin and doughpops them the following week. But I still love Kevin.

My goodness some people are wound way too tight. He’s 100% Thunder, but understand too, he’s going to cheer for his college. If he starts knockin the OKC fans and holding it against them for cheering on their college team, then the fans can get upset. But…..he hasn’t done than, nor would he. He’s just way too classy of a guy to do that. Some of you little sissies need to quit being so sensitive.

I agree DK. Durant can pull for a school he attended for all of ONE semester all he wants, but when he starts making cutting remarks about OUR state’s school(s), he better be ready for the criticism. If he doesn’t want to hear, he can KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT!!!

Look, he’s a Longhorn. He’s going to do this, and it doesn’t mean his being “disrespectful.” He’s having a little fun. Why is that so blasted hard for folks to see?

Hey, be glad for his Longhorn loyalty. He was there for one freaking year, yet he bleeds burnt orange. That’s good. Because if he wasn’t like that, it would probably mean all his talk about loving Oklahoma would be so much garbage. But we have concrete proof that he means it. He’s loyal to Texas the way he’s loyal to his home back east and the way he’s loyal to his family. And the way he’s loyal to Oklahoma City. He’s incredibly consistent in this.

These are good things, people.

I’m a lifelong Okie and a lifelong Sooner fan, and I’m telling you, yes, folks around here need to take a prescription strength chill pill. We think we’re a big league city and state since we got an NBA team. Fine. Time to start acting like it. Part of doing so means being big enough to take some slings and arrows.

As well as some good-natured ribbing.

This is true and maybe the media can quit doing stories to get people fired up about these types of stories.I’ve never been around Kevin Durant so I’m pretty sure I read about what he’s wearing or saying.Maybe you should chill out and not try to get something started.Media policing it’s self oh probably not.
