The crowd was okay most of the game, great at the end of the game.

I don’t care for the O-K-C chant, didn’t feel like people were into it, but felt more like they had to do it because the powers that be insisted on playing it.

If you want to see this crowd at it’s best, play the game earlier. Thunder crowds are low on energy on Sundays and 8:30 starts. It also helps when the guys shoot better than 33% and fouls aren’t called every 4 seconds. But that’s with any crowd.

Also, pom-poms don’t help – they don’t make noise. Neither do towels.

David, first off thanks for staying up. Sorry you had to lose sleep. But I appreciate you being a loyal reader. Second, the guy who I linked to on Twitter is Benjamin Hochman, the Nuggets beat writer. He's covered the league slightly longer than I have. He's also a published author and radio host in Denver. He knows his stuff. And he's not the only media type to notice this season. My point wasn't that the actual chant of "O-K-C" was lame (although I still don't think it's any good), but that it was piped in. Any piped in noise is never good noise. -DM-

I watched at home and thought it was clear/obvious what they were chanting. I liked it because I hope the national media will stop shortening Oklahoma City to Oak City, maybe OKC will be a better option, same number of syllables.

At first I thought the chant was “O-S-U”… I didn’t like the chant because it lacked clarity – no offense Pokes fans.

I don’t think Darnell’s critique is lame. I think he’s on target. The Thunder Game-Ops people should allow for fans to generate on their own. Throwing in a canned, unexpected “O-K-C” chant appears weak.

Oh, and the Thunder drummers up in Loud City is a downer too. They’re okay for a filler timeout performance, but tell the boys to put down their sticks when it’s a tense moment in the game.

I will give a positive remark. After hearing Denver fans “boo” whenever the Thunder had the ball in the previous, it’s refreshing to hear OKC fans chant “DEE-fense” when the Nuggets are on offense. That’s a more constructive way to participate. So I give props to game ops peeps for encouraging this.

I watched on TV and didn’t realize the chant was piped. I didn’t like the chant because I like the name Oklahoma City Thunder and I like Oklahoma City being on the jersey instead of OKC.

I agree 100% about the manufactured noise. Keep it real.
