Maybe eventually Thunder will need to make a move to get a bigger presence inside. But I think the biggest reason everyone thinks this is because Thunder just simply plays too much small ball with too much undersized Jeff Green at the four.
When Thunder has played Ibaka at the 4 and another big man inside and played with determination from the whole team to fight inside, I think they have done amazingly well.
I don’t care how much better Kevin likes Jeff over Ibaka; Ibaka needs to be starting at the 4 and Jeff needs to be 6th man providing valuable relief minutes for Kevin and Sef.
So do the best with what you have before you start thinking a trade is the answer.
Even if Thunder had Shaq or D.Howard at the 5, if they continued to play Jeff 40 minutes at the 4 they would still be undersized inside. Trust your big men and play 2 at all times. Jeff is not the size to be playing and banging inside and Thunder does need a 4th man in the rotation at the 5 and 4 positions.
Thunder is showing signs that they realize this and is moving in the right direction, I only hope they continue to do so. I like Jeff plenty just not so much at the 4. Play to win, play big and fight to win the physical game inside and out. Go Thunder!!!

I pretty much agree with Darnell. The team is young,entertaining and this will always be a small market franchise which has to have certain payroll constraints.I wouldn’t knee jerk at this moment. But I would bench two guys.

I don’t think it’s a “have to” deal to get someone at the deadline, however I do think they need to look for a center in the offseason. With Krstic likely gone, and Mullens and Aldrich possibly not ready to crack the rotation, you need someone solid at the five.

Tramel, you already written them off? I say the second half of the season goes like many of their games this year and the D gets better down the stretch. As good as this team is now, imagine them with last year’s D. They’re still down a big and a consistent shooting guard but in my opinion, with a little luck, they could win it all. This year. Where’s your hope man?

Some good Clipper jokes offer themselves here, but considering that The Mighty Griff is now a Clipper, and also considering how long their fan base has suffered, I’ll leave it alone.

I agree with Thunder One in that we shouldn’t wait too long with our slow cooking approach. To win championships these days you need three championship caliber player, we have two. We need a third one to emerge either organically or free agency within next year. You cant predict injuries and we have been fortunate so far.

Deandre jordan will be excellent fit, but as i said with promising young bigs ,clippers will not let him go. There is a reason chris kaman is in trade rumors and not deandre.

To sit on our hands like Portland and Utah have done over the years will only get us their results, i.e. nada. Recents champions like Boston and L.A. have all upped the ante and been aggressive in upgrading their talent. Rolling on the same tires only gets you the same mileage and eventually less mileage. The Thunder is only 2 or 3 years away from winning it all (yes, winning it all) if the proper upgrades are made. The wish list should include a scorer e.g. a C.J Miles ($3.7 million salary) and a power forward center e.g. DeAndre Jordan ($0.9 million salary).
