I’ve been around basketball most of my nearly 65 years and I’ve never seen anything like Robert Yanders $20,000 shot and the fan and players reactions. Best of all, he seems like a very nice young man who loves his family.I have broadcast NBA basketball on TV and radio along with Major League Baseball and other events and I have only seen that kind of celebration once before. It was the night the Louisville Redbirds announced to some 34,000 fans that the one millionth fan had just come through the turnstiles in 1984 marking the first time a minor league baseball team had ever drawn a million fans. They went on to outdraw the Major League Cincinnati Reds, 90 miles to the north. The video I have of that night was something, just like they did for Yanders $20,000 half court shot.CONGRATULATIONS!!! Yanders was a very popular player for the Missouri State University West Plains Grizzlies and MSU.
