why do we need a 5 that can score? we have the highest scoring duo in the league. We need defense! We need to get big in the paint, everyone needs to remember that Green is NOT a 4 hes a 3! Plus he might not be with us next year. We need size and Oden will provide shot blocking and rebounding! MY TWO CENTS !

Good article, and an intriguing idea. But in all honesty, even if OKC were to make an offer to Oden, I think this is probably the last team he would want to play for. Not because he has anything against the Thunder or OKC, but because Durant is here. And not because he has anything against Durant, per say. But if Oden ever hopes to escape the Sam Bowie label and stop being negatively compared with Durant, the last thing he would want to do is play on the same team that Durant plays on.

Oden would never be the centerpiece on a team that features Durant, which may or may not matter to him. But if joins the Thunder, even if he stays healthy and becomes an important part of the team, he'll constantly be reminded, in many different ways, that it's Durant's world, and he simply lives in it.

Maybe on a different team he could escape that somewhat, if he ever manages to stay healthy. But in Oklahoma City, I think it would be that much harder. I wish him well no matter what he does, and I have no doubt at all that Durant would welcome him with open arms were he to join the Thunder. But I don't see Oden wanting to play here. And I wouldn't blame him.

Pleiss is a definitely not a player like Mullens. He leads the German League in Blocks and is one of the better rebounder in this league. Actually he's rarely part of the offense. Basketball in Germany means low quality Don-Nelson-Ball with small lineups and few touches for the bigs.
In Euroleague he's struggling a bit because of the variety of quality big men. He still has a long way to go.

But: HE IS NOT LIKE MULLENS! ;-)

You guys will not get Oden. For those of you who are saying this idea is moronic, you're ignorant and know nothing. Oden is very talented. To get him on the cheap would be amazing considering your talent at center is minimal. The Blazers however will give him a qualifying offer and will resign him to a reasonable deal. He will play next year and become what he was suppose. Darnell, why speculate? I know its just talk but whats the point? It's not happening. Go Sonics...eh, I mean Thunder

[...] Darnell Mayberry makes a case for Greg Oden in OKC: “I don’t know how far OKC will be under the cap next season. Nobody does since the rules of a new collective bargaining agreement are still in the balance. But Oden is worth taking a considerable chance on. It’s not my money, but I’d jump at a deal starting at $2 million per. I’d probably go as high as $3.5 million per and strongly consider a $4 million annual salary over, say, three years. Maybe that’s too much. Maybe that’s not nearly enough and a franchise like New York outbids everyone to make Oden the latest in a long line of overpaid centers in a Knicks uniform. But, if I’m Presti, Oden would definitely be in my sights next summer.” [...]

DJ is most definitely a power forward, and not the greatest defender. I think we'd all love to have Nene if he became available. Unfortunately, that's not likely to happen until (and unless) the Nuggets do something with Melo and blow up the team.
