@Jay Butler
Got a link?

The best I could find to support your assertion that Caldwell wasn't speaking out of his rectum was an opinion piece that the late Mike Celizic wrote during All-Star Weekend citing unnamed sources - wow, that sounds familiar - that several teams, including the Thunder, were losing money.

It's good that you point out that Forbes was looking at teams' bottom lines for the 2008-2009 season. It only bolsters my argument that there is no way a team that made $12.7 million during a 23-win season is going to suddenly begin losing money during a 50-win season that included hosting three playoff games.

The Forbes amount that OKC fans keep harping about, is the report for the 2008-2009 season. The one that Caldwell is looking at for the following year, the 2009-2010 season, which MSNBC and a ton of others reported last month.

Caldwell has his facts correct. MartzMimic does not.

Leave it to an LA fan to jump in on a conversation that has nothing to do with him, spouting dribble about his city's supposed social, athletic and financial superiority.

While I agree the Lakers are a great team, and have won many NATIONAL championships,(Kevin Durant actually led the USA to a WORLD championship over the summer; learn the difference) we don't care that you think you're better than us.

If you had actually been outside of your own little world, you might realize that the rest of the country isn't stuck in the historical era it may be known for.

As for your superiority complex:
Yes, the Lakers are one of the best teams right now, but
No, they are not any more athletic, especially considering how old they are all getting. They will soon retire, or slow down with increasing injury. Their decade of reigning is about to come to a close, so I can see why you would want to shout their greatness as loud and as long as possible, in hopes they won't be forgotten.

And,
I seriously doubt that you personally make more money than even half the people in Oklahoma, seeing as you can't even spell "white" correctly, and seeing as how you're not one of the Lakers, but just a small insignificant fan who can't understand the concept of a professional team thriving in a small market.

And lastly, who cares about having more than one franchise? When it comes down to it, the Thunder don't have to compete with anyone for professional team love, and yet in LA you have to share an arena.

Please realize that while this game is all fun and entertaining, it has NOTHING to do with the ULTIMATE PICTURE. So don't forget to go out and find a life.

@lynn1, Its OKC... get off your mountain. you have one "franchise" and its the NBA. The team will be gone in under 10 years, and your dirt city will have nothing but an empty arena and whit trash in their pickups saying, "man, hell... what happened to all them tall fellas?" no one is looking for pity in seattle. people are just angry at what happened surrounding the team's move. unlike the mid 90's when the state/city saved baseball and football the economy in 08 was a lot worse. Lynn, what is the over/under of time ACDC is played at a home game for the thunder? 40, 50 +/-? must be a nice view from your mountain, but lets not forget who is bigger in the ultimate picture, who makes more money, who has more than one sports franchise, and WHO HAS WON A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

And they were looking for PITY.

I never in my life wanted or seeked out PITY . If someone offered me PITY, I would not let them give me PITY.

That takes a beggar of a person to reach out for PITY.
