[...] After a two-week absence, Kevin Durant has returned to Twitter, touching base with friends and followers via the social networking site. Since resurfacing in the hours following the Thunder’s 95-94 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 on Friday night , Durant has provided reaction to his team’s first-round exit, what appears to be insight into his closed-door exit interview from Saturday and, of course, a few lighthearted one-liners.
I loved keeping up with KD and seeing how he interacts with his fans...and believe me, I am a huge fan. Even if I never got a response, I still somehow felt connected by sending messages to KD and the rest of the Thunder guys who are on Twitter. I actually got responses a time or two from Jeff, James, Eric and Kyle. It made my day just to know they were reading my tweets. Anyway, I hope he comes back to Twitter soon. We miss ya on there KD!

two cities dislike the thunder right now, seattle and los angeles. the other cities just dont care about okc. prime example, last night on TNT, they did a game preview and instead of talking about the game, they talked about the hotel the lakers were staying at.

nobody cares about okc or the thunder. it's part of being a small market. people probably wouldnt even know they made the playoffs if they weren't playing the lakers. just wait until they get ousted from the playoffs, nobody will be talking about them and all the negative talk will be gone.

[...] KD might be done Twittering: ”On Tuesday, we learned that the Durantula is currently fed up with Twitter. Fed up with unnecessary negativity he runs into anytime he attempts to reach out to his fans. “I get too many hateful messages on there,” Durant said. “Sometimes I don’t want to hear that.” When asked whether his hiatus is just for the playoffs, Durant didn’t mince his words. “I might be done with that Twitter thing,” he said. “It’s too many people that send me a lot of different bad messages. You got to take the good with the bad, but sometimes you don’t want to hear that so I just let it go.” Share: [...]

You make a great point, Lynn1. Things were going smoothly until early last week when KD and the Thunder found out that they would be playing the Lakers in the first round. I don't think KD will tweet until after the NBA playoffs end. The keyword is NBA, not the Thunder (KD will probably need some downtime to himself once the Thunder is eliminated). So that means late June or July before he starts tweeting again. That's my guess, though.

And I agree with Darnell about a few bad apples destroying the fun that KD had with his fans on Twitter. In the past, KD would respond to the "haters" by directly replying back (with not so kind words) or by re-tweeting the "haters" message and allowing the rest of the world to see it directly. I guess it was a total waste of time for KD to continue to do that and that's a shame for the rest of us. Maybe Twitter needs to find a way to allow users to screen messages before it's posted.

Ya think maybe, that Laker fans found him on Twitter ?

Anytime there is a bandwagon fan base as large as the Lakers carry around, then there will be plenty of arrogant two-bit jerks with a lot of time on their hands.

And they live vicariously through the team. I can imagine them at their computers or texting on their phones with the 24 jerseys on.... , ya know, you've seen them at the games, they think they are Kobe.
