As I agree with you on James Harden, I still believe Thabo Sefolosha should be a starter. Sefolosha is a perfect compliment (a defensive force) to KD, and to a lesser extent, Westbrook and Green (all offensive forces). As Darnell Mayberry said, Thabo shut down O.J. Mayo (2 points [a season low] on 1 of 12 shooting). Mayo averages 18.1 PPG as I write this.

First, thank you Darnell for your insightful reporting. You really add something.

At this point in the season certain patterns, some good and some bad, are starting to evolve. First the bad. Krystic can never be a starting center. He has lead feet, subpar reflexes and except for a good outside shot, adds little to an athletic roster. Two, Westbrook unfortunately, is not a point guard, and will never really be one. He is a strange dilemma since he is dynamic, can really rebound and can drive hard. But he is not a good shot beyond 15 feet and can't pass except when he is driving. Perhaps, except for his size, he is better suited to the 2. Persnally, I think he would be an incredible trade chip. Maynor looks like the steal as he is quick, good sized and can pass. There is something about his game that meshes with what Presti is putting together. Three, Green should really come off the bench, in spite of some good games and then bad ones. They could use a more athletic rebounder which I believe will be Ibaka.

Now the good. First KD. His game will skyrocket with 10 more pounds and with Maynor as the point, as Westbrook does not know how to give him the ball. KD will end up being one of the top 10 players of all time.

Second, Ibaka over the summer should develop the missing phases of his game. It is very hard to incorporate them during a long tiring season.

Three, Mullens could develop dramatically over the summer as he sees what he must do and as he puts on some weight.

Finally and best of all, the uniqueness of Harden. When I first saw him I couldn't put my finger on his game. He was old school and even though he didn't appear to be unusually athletic he always seemed to do the right thing and be at the right place. Right now he is totally left handed but that should change again over the summer when he can practice going right more. A couple of nights ago, my dim light bulb went on and I saw who is a reincarnation of, and this might sound stretched at this point in his career. It is a latter day John Havlicek who was around the same size and could do the same things as Harden and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. Perhaps Harden will never be the defensive man that Havlicek was, but he has the same instincts. All of you oldtimers watch his game when he is in and see if you see what I see in him.

Now we need a quick defensive center for next year. Greg Monroe on this team. Maybe, Sam can cajole some dimwitted GM out of his pick and there are a bunch of dimwits out there. Next year this team will be very scary to play.
