Hello Darnell from most likelly the only Thunder fan in Manhattan (New York, not Kansas.) I realize that the Pistons were without their best players and probably would have won had they been there, but some good things stand out here. One, the team is best when Westbrook is the second guard. He is not a playmaker and can't really pass except when driving. In fact, he couldn't react when he had Durant clearly in front for an easy lay up. He has no passing reactions. The Thunder must come to grips with that. Iverson didn't and never developed even though he was a great 2 in a 1 body.

But two Harden showed he is a total mismatch for any point to guard, and he has passing instincts. Three, Durant's defense is becoming a quality event but I am certain that it is detracting from his shooting, probably his legs. He consumes a lot of energy on his defense and it has hurt his offense especially his 3's and his free throws.

When Ibaka, Westbrook, Livingston, Durant and Harden are on the floor, the Thunder are an exciting defensive team that covers a lot of ground and blocks a lot of shots. They are very disruptive. I am eager to see how Ibaka develops. He has some athletic skills.

If they continue to run Russell at the point, they will still fail against the better teams. One athletic center away from being formidable next year.
