…instead of Ricky Rubio? If Rubio left for Spain regardless, I am glad. If he stayed to play for the Thunder, I’m not. But like I said, we will never know. Rubio (pass first) more completes the Thunder (all shoot first) then Harden (shoot first). Rubio will play backup PG behind Westbrook if Scott Brooks wants, and take it from there.

If the Thunder picked Ricky Rubio, he is a John Stockton passer (with a little Magic Johnson thrown in). I don’t compare Rubio with Pete Maravich (Pistol Pete was a dead-eye shooter). And if we picked him as the 3rd pick, he might not return to Spain (OKC is a warm city). But the one thing we can all agree: we will never know.

Westbrook showed this pass-first mentality in the preaseason. As I said then, if he can balance that with his ability to score, he can be something special. That said, I think whether that happens – at least in the short term – depends on Krstic. Those games when he’s been able to feed Krstic the ball have generally been the most productive for both Russ and Nenad.
