people are tired of the nba pushing matchups on us in general. i got tired of the whole 'celtics vs. lakers' history lesson that was shoved down my throat last postseason, and this year it's the afore-mentioned puppets (that were on espn? just tell me the damn scores, i don't tune in for commercials and stuart scott's attempts at being hip) and vitamin water ads. it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when it's apparent that the league wants certain people in the finals. i'm almost rooting against a lakers/cavs finals just because that's what everyone wants. if it happens, it happens, but let's not count our finals before they're set.

The reason why the Lakers have a shot while the Cavaliers are living on life-support is one thing: Pau Gasol. Championship teams have at least two stars, and there is no star on the Cavs besides LeBron. Kobe did not win last year when Gasol was average.
