DM, as much as i see your point about the free agent situation (good article in the paper, why not put it on the blog as well?), i think it will take FOREVER to get to the point where a free agent will take a chance on okc.
and as far as the spurs comparison goes, it’s kind of a catch-22. okc will need to win consistantly to sign an a-list free agent, but okc will need that a-list free agent to win consistantly. the spurs were led by tim duncan, whom they drafted with a lucky number one pick. players like that are very few and far between, especially these days.

(Donut, you bring up an interesting point. I rarely post my articles in this space because I figure most of the people who view this blog also are regular readers of my articles in The Oklahoman and on NewsOK. I could be wrong, but it seems those types of readers would have most likely already read the articles by the time I post them here. So for the most part I think it would be sort of a waste of space to put it here. Yes, there are exceptions as always, and I’ve even posted articles here the day before it ran in the paper. I think that works. Linking to it and not necessarily posting the entire article works well too. I don’t, however, think I should get in the habit of using this space as just one more place to dump articles. I feel that might be redundant to many. Thanks for the suggestion. -DM-)

wow, he seems really excited to move to oklahoma.

i like that piece on how free agents will gladly sign there. not sure that’s going to happen unless the team becomes the spurs and wins constantly.

It’s very clear that Presti is big on character and work ethic. We have an excellent young core and they all seem to have really good heads on their shoulders and maturity beyond their years. It’s going to be fun to grow in to this with these guys.
