To the Seattle people that have posted here just wanted to say:

Thank you so much for your interest in our local paper and its blog. We very much enjoy your insightfullness and input. We hope you come visit our fair city when the Sonics relocate here in the very near future. Good luck in either privately financing or refurbishing KeyArena in order to one day attract another NBA or NHL franchise to your city. We are thrilled to welcome the Sonics franchise, its players and our local ownership group to town and will be sure to hold up thank you signs during our sold-out games.

" We don't have a place to build anything and we don't have any money but we wanted to call a press conference to show everyone these cool pictures"

While it's amusing that you have an entire blog dedicated to a fictional NBA team I would ask you to show some respect for the franchise you will presumably support should they ever step foot in OKC. There is a legacy of people and players that laid the foundation for 41 years of success that is allowing you to hijack the cherished sports memories of an entire metropolitan area, and I think you owe them a basic level of respect. As far as I can tell this blog is dedicated to the greatness of David Stern and Clay Bennett. That doesn't qualify you as a basketball fan in my book.

I'll stand up for D.M. on this one.

Downtown Freddy Brown is a bonified legend and if he had "dis'ed" him i'd be the first to bring a rope, but in pictures I can see the connection. In person you would never make it however.

To be clear about the "Emerald City Center" proposal is that it would be privately funded and that is a huge problem with the NBA. They do not want people building arenas with their own money because that makes bleeding taxpayers for open ended funding like they are getting in OKC much tougher to do.

It is an amazing proposal, one that would be the best in the NBA, but with the complete failure of David Stern to show any leadership it is unlikely that great vision like this would ever come to pass. With the legal nightmare that is about to be unleashed on the league Seattle will be keeping the Sonics but are also forced to upgrade Key Arena rather then be able to take the time to flesh out a major project like this.

Stern needs to resign, he clearly has let his personal hurt feelings prevent him from working for the best interest of the league. His time has passed and now someone with real vision and leadership needs to take over.
