I'll never understand the popularity of Fat Tire, especially with the same style available from other brewerys, which in my book have always scored higher than Fat Tire! One in particular would be North Coast Red Seal, a fantastic American Amber Ale, which is available in OK.

I'm happy for Marshall Brewing, but find it interesting that New Belgium was even in the competition for Oklahoma's favorite beer. It's not sold in the state, meaning there are a lot of people who don't know what it is not to mention the quality of the sample would be suspect since it would have to travel across state lines to be tasted. Congrats though and it shows that the Marshall brewing company has definitely increased awareness and consistency.

Congrats to Marshall for making it to the finals! It's great to see an Oklahoma beer at the top.

On another note...I think it's a great idea to have beer of all types represented in the BCS. The fact that we can't get Fat Tire in Oklahoma doesn't make it any less tasty of a beer. Plus, the Championship was designed as a fun way for beer lovers to celebrate beer! Cheers!

Why have you included a beer in the championship series, New Belgium's Fat Tire, that is not available in Oklahoma? That seems odd to me. Besides, Marshall's McNellie's Pub Ale is so much better.

Marshall's Brewery and their beer is the first thing in Oklahoma that is better than anything we have in Texas. While that statement is hard for me to swallow, the beer isn't!! Great Beer!!

I agree Mustang is a fine session beer, sorry wasn't trying to stir the pot. To think that just a year ago we had only two "Oklahoma Beer makers" and now we have these great offerings is a wonderful thing in my opinion. I look forward to many more coming from all of our beer makers here in this state.

How exactly are they getting votes illegally? Really, isn't this supposed to be in fun? People are taking this way to seriously. If Mustang is Oklahoma owned and operated, then it is an Oklahoma beer. Someone is very bitter about losing.

Wow! Everyone take a deep breath. I agree if the category for Oklahoma is only beers that are brewed there, then yes Mustang would not be in that category I agree. Mustang is a company based in Oklahoma and pays all of its taxes to Oklahoma. That makes it an Oklahoma company. So it depends on who wrote the category and it is up to them to decide. It looks like they were considering the fact that the company is an Oklahoma company and that why they even put it on the list. So it’s on the list and the people have voted, you can’t go back in time and take it off of the list. People, who got their feelings hurt because their favorite beer got out voted, live with it. It’s a poll for fun. Life goes on. If it really means that much to you then work next year to let all your friends know about the poll and vote. On the cheating comment, of course Mustang is going to send emails out to its fans to let them know to vote. To be honest I did not even know about the poll until I got an email informing me that it was there and I could vote. That brings more people into vote and creates interest in the Thirsty Beagle. The poll can tell who is cheating and that’s The truth. Next year take it of the Oklahoma category and put it somewhere else, but why cry about the past?

Its bs that mustang is beating coop. unless you have a server farm of ips hitting votes, or you have some email spam thing going on, it is vote fraud of some sort. i know its a psuedo meaningless poll but i think that any publicity not earned honestly is just all out wrong.

I've been told that Mustang has been sending out mass e-mails telling people to vote for the "regular" brew they contract brew elsewhere. Not sure how fair that is...Golden Ale isn't awful...it is just another non-descript brew that isn't brewed in Oklahoma.

I don't think anyone is challenging the validity of it's taste but more of it's placement in the bracket. It has been fun don't get me wrong. Truly a beer aficionado would see that you don't compare say a Belgian to a Lager or an Ale to an IPA, but that isn't the point of the bracket. So by region makes sense and I concede, but to put a beer bottled in Missouri against one brewed here in OKC in a category of Oklahoma Beer is just not making sense. Anyhow it is fun to watch. Thanks for posting it out for us.

Great BCS, but I have one comment, how does Mustang qualify for a "Oklahoma Beer" when it isn't even made or bottled in Oklahoma?

Tried both Firefox and IE - still no vote capability. The vote button acts like a link, but nothing happens when the mouse click occurs - strange. BREW!!!

Sorry about that. An army of one or two people is looking at this as I type. I hope we can get it straightened out soon.
