Keeping up with Routhtail Brewing
There’s a very interesting thing happening on the Oklahoma craft beer scene right now. A new craft brewery — Roughtail Brewing — is forming, and they’re keeping everyone in the loop as they move along in the process. Based on my experience covering the craft beer scene since 2008, this is a somewhat unique, and completely welcome, approach. No offense meant to any of our existing brewers, but craft brewers tend to run relatively close-to-the-vest-type operations. Nothing wrong with that, as there certainly is something to be said for making sure things are just right before you release information publicly. At the same time, it certainly is illuminating to see the access Roughtail is providing as they continue their set-up. They started a blog to tell their story and just today posted several images showing how they’re working through the logo design process. Again, it’s not revolutionary to share your story with the public, but it is nice to see someone so willing to do it, especially when it comes to highlighting the bumps and bruises any start-up faces along the way. Interested in trying their beer? Roughtail reports they plan to have beer in the market by the turn of the calendar.
