New beer alert No. 1: COOP Wild Wheat Wine Ale

Got a couple new beers from Oklahoma craft breweries to tell you about today. First off is COOP Ale Work’s Territorial Reserve Wild Wheat Wine Ale.

Here’s how COOP describes the beer:

Our inaugural 2012 Wild Wheat Wine Ale has a floral and rustic foundation that began with generous additions of both malted and unmalted wheat. We then added local alfalfa honey and fermented this brew with wild yeast.

This is a truly distinctive beer with an earthy backdrop leading to warming notes of tropical fruit and rich tartness.

COOP will release about 1,500 bottles as early as tomorrow, and will hold a bottle signing on Thursday evening at BierGarten Wine and Spirits, 807 East A St., Jenks.
