TapWerks plans pair of beer events

TapWerks — sponsor of the fourth annual Beer Championship Series — has planned a couple of cool events in early November. Here are a couple notes I got from bar general manager Greg Powell:

-International Stout Day is Thursday, Nov. 3.  It will be similar to IPA Day, and you saw how much response we got from that! I have gotten confirmation of special kegs/firkins from Choc, Coop, Marshall and Redbud. We will also have a special food menu centered around stout beer. More details to come, but mark your calendar now, because it should be epic!

If you missed IPA Day on Aug. 4, then you really missed out. The beer provided by Choc, COOP and Marshall was outstanding — as were the IPA-infused food choices.

-The first Oklahoma Homebrewer’s Showcase is Sunday, Nov. 6.  It will be a private event on the second floor of TapWerks with two sessions, in the afternoon and early evening.  Tickets will be free and we will update you about where to get them soon.  The event will feature 25 homebrewers, and they will each bring a couple of styles that will be available for sample.  COOP Ale Works is organizing/sponsoring the event and we will be the host.

One thing I’ve learned in my time writing this blog is that Oklahoma’s craft brewers are not the only ones in the state producing excellent beer. You owe it to yourself to get out and see what the homebrewers can do.
