Monday beer news report
Good Monday morning, beer fans! Here are some odds and ends to take you into the beer week:
-McNellie’s OKC has several happenings this week, starting tonight with Monday Pint Night featuring Harp. Starts at 5 p.m. Buy the beer, keep the glass. On Tuesday, McNellie’s Beer University will feature Award-Winning Beers. This kicks off at 7 p.m. Email jenny.price@mcnellies.com for a reservation. Then on Friday, the weekly Firkin Friday will feature a cask from Redbud Brewing at 6 p.m.
-McNellie’s OKC is also offering a special on Guinness this week. St. Patrick’s Day is only like 180 days away, after all.
-Not to be outdone, McNellie’s Tulsa has a pint night tonight at 5 p.m. featuring Belhaven Scottish Stout. Then on Thursday, the weekly Firkin Thursday features a Rauchbier from Marshall Brewing. The firkin will be tapped at 6 p.m.
-Here’s a report from the Red Earth Brewers August meeting, including a homebrew recipe for an imperial bacon porter. Bacon tastes good.
-And speaking of bacon, the Wall Street Journal posted a slideshow about picking a good beer to go with your breakfast. If champagne works for breakfast, why not beer, right?
