Choc to release new, rare beer
Choc Beer Co. announced that the latest addition to its Signature Series lineup should be on shelves by the end of the month. Choc Gose (pronounced goes-ah) promises to be a unique brew, not only for Choc, but for this country. Here’s a little description from Choc’s Zach Prichard:
“It is going to be packaged in 750 ml, corked-and-caged bottles, similar to the Oak Aged Quad. This one is pretty limited, too. In terms of the beer, it is a tart wheat brewed with coriander and salt. The interplay of the tartness and salt are best experienced rather than described,” Prichard said. “I can say it is very unique and refreshing. The Gose style originated outside of Leipzig, Germany.”
Prichard said the beer nearly became obsolete in the second part of the 20th century.
“Luckily for us, a few breweries in Leipzig revived the style. Still, we are going to be one of only five … breweries that will bottle this style of beer. Our crew took a trip there last year to visit those breweries and study the style. As a result of that trip we have been able to craft a great Gose.”
Sounds like a definite must-try offering.

This is a tasty little beer! It isn’t for everyone but it is worth experiencing for yourself. I like it!
