Oktoberfest time is here!
Too bad Oktoberfest weather is not here. Nonetheless, it’s getting to be that time of year again! Don’t let the 157 degree weather fool you. COOP Oktoberfest is ready and will be served up at the finish line of Saturday’s Dirty 30 race in Mulhall. (Along with Horny Toad Cerveza and Zeppelin German Wheat.) And Choctoberfest is in bottles and should be available pretty soon. I think the yearly unveiling of fall/Oktoberfest beers is a strong contender for my favorite beer-related time of the year. It’s a tough call between that and holiday/winter beer time. At the least, I think we can all agree both are good times of the year, 157 degree weather or not.
Beer news and links
-Tonight is another Firkin Friday at McNellie’s OKC. This week it’s a strawberry-banana ale from COOP Ale Works. Looks very interesting. Pouring starts at 6 p.m.
-Tapwerks is celebrating International IPA Day next Thursday. There will be 25 IPAs to choose from, plus IPA-infused culinary creations.
-Just a reminder that voting continues this afternoon in the final day of conference action in the Beer Championship Series. Included today is the Oktoberfest Conference, which features a match-up between Oktoberfest brews from COOP, Choc and Marshall, among others.
