Friday firkin offers sneak peek of Choc brew
McNellie’s OKC is hosting a firkin Friday this week featuring Choc. My sources tell me that the beer is a test batch of Choc’s Summer Belgian-style Blonde Ale. Festivities start at 6 p.m. If you haven’t tried Choc’s summer brew, you need to head down to McNellie’s on Friday evening. This is a very nice beer, folks. It makes me harken back to the good old days of the summer of 2010. As with most Choc beers, there is a good story behind the Summer Ale. The beer was originally brewed in 2009 to celebrate the wedding of the great-granddaughter of Pete’s Place founder Pete Prichard. Choc liked it so much, they decided to keep brewing it and make it their summer seasonal. And tomorrow you can get a glimpse of the 2011 version before it hits store shelves.
