If you all haven't figured it out by now, this competition is nothing more than a way to boost the ego of OK beer drinkers that prefer beers other than domestic swill. In no way were the beers paired in a way that they could be compared style to style (which is the only way to truly judge a beer). It's not just coincidence that OK's most popular beers made the cut, that's how the bracket made to work.

Mustang has NEVER said they were an Oklahoma brewery. They only stated Oklahoma owned and operated. And they put that in their ads. ALSO, this is not a competition between Oklahoma beer. Go back and look at the beginning. PBR, Tecate, etc. Seriously Puzzled, you are an idiot!

Boulevard ripoff? That is a brewery, which product are you referring to the Wheat, Lunar Ale, maybe the Porter? How about the Long Strange Triple, or even Rye on Rye? Just curious which ripoff you refer too.

We all have to realize that the more great local beers that we can get here in Oklahoma the better we all are for it. How fun would the Denver metro be for a Beer fan if there was just ONE brewery in Colorado?

What matters is when you
Market yourself as an Oklahoma brewery when you do not have a brewery in Oklahoma. Boston Beer Co. is just their business name. They don't market themselves as a Massachusetts brewery.

I'm not saying Mustang is bad, in fact they have good beer and a great brewer. So my beef isn't with the beer, it's the misperception that they are brewing in Oklahoma. Again, the beef isn't with contract brewing out of state, it's with calling it an Oklahoma brewed beer. It's not fair to the people who have setup their breweries here. So, I don't think they should be included in a competition between beers brewed here.

One more time, all love to Mustang. They make good beer, designed by a good brewer. I just don't, and won't, consider them an Oklahoma brewery until they move production here.

But this isn't a discussion about Boston, or where it is developed or brewed, but moree of what is Oklahoma's favorite beer.

Marshall produces a great product in many lines, Choc has good products, COOP brings great flavors to the table, not to mention the DNR! Mustang appeals to many as well. But the point remains for many, it isn't a vote against Mustang but a vote for Beer made in Oklahoma. This doesn't make Mustang bad necessarily, it is just that many feel this way. If you don't think so why do you not see the intense discussion between the other in state breweries? You never see this discussion up against say Choc and Marshall or Choc and Battered Boar or Marshall and COOP?

Only when a brewery that seemingly was from Oklahoma, even has a PO box in Mustang turns out that it is brewed out of state that this comes up. The fact it is brewed out of state is an issue as is proof of these long standing discussions.

I've heard this so called point of view - pretty weak. Given that logic, America's largest craft brewery wouldn't be the Boston Beer Co, since they develop recipes in Boston (like Mustang does in OKC) but brew in Cincinnati. You're creating an issue that doesn't matter - the beer is good, and that's all that matters.
