We all have to realize that the more great local beers that we can get here in Oklahoma the better we all are for it. How fun would the Denver metro be for a Beer fan if there was just ONE brewery in Colorado?

I’m not saying Mustang is bad, in fact they have good beer and a great brewer. So my beef isn’t with the beer, it’s the misperception that they are brewing in Oklahoma. Again, the beef isn’t with contract brewing out of state, it’s with calling it an Oklahoma brewed beer. It’s not fair to the people who have setup their breweries here. So, I don’t think they should be included in a competition between beers brewed here.

One more time, all love to Mustang. They make good beer, designed by a good brewer. I just don’t, and won’t, consider them an Oklahoma brewery until they move production here.

Marshall produces a great product in many lines, Choc has good products, COOP brings great flavors to the table, not to mention the DNR! Mustang appeals to many as well. But the point remains for many, it isn’t a vote against Mustang but a vote for Beer made in Oklahoma. This doesn’t make Mustang bad necessarily, it is just that many feel this way. If you don’t think so why do you not see the intense discussion between the other in state breweries? You never see this discussion up against say Choc and Marshall or Choc and Battered Boar or Marshall and COOP?

Only when a brewery that seemingly was from Oklahoma, even has a PO box in Mustang turns out that it is brewed out of state that this comes up. The fact it is brewed out of state is an issue as is proof of these long standing discussions.
