Monday beer links

Here’s news making the rounds in the beer world:

-Beer enthusiasts in England are calling for April 6 to be declared National Beer Day.

-A real genius in Florida called 911 to say he was drunk and needed police to take him to detox. When police obliged, the man popped open a can of beer — in the back of the police cruiser!

-A new study suggests brightly colored bird feathers have something in common with beer suds.

-Talk about lawmakers really working for their constituents: Oregon legislators have proposed an “Honest Pint Act” that would ensure beer drinkers who order a pint get a full 16 ounces of brew. Yes! It’s about time something worthwhile came out of the flurry of government action we’ve been hearing about.
