BCS update: End of the first round
The first round has come to a close in The Thirsty Beagle Beer Championship Series. The 64-beer bracket has been reduced — by your votes — to 32 brews from Oklahoma and around the world. To see who’s left standing, take a look at the bracket at the end of round 1.
There were some definite surprises in round 1 voting, like Bud Light beating out Sam Adams Boston Lager in the USA Region, and some heavy favorites carrying their match-ups with ease, like Chimay Red Ale coasting against Beck’s in the Europe Region. Canadian and Australian beers are holding strong in the International Region, and beers from the Bricktown Brewery in Oklahoma City and the Choc Brewery in Krebs are running wild through the Oklahoma Region.
Check back Wednesday morning for the first set of match-ups in the second round.
